Miguel Tejada said that he isnt satisfied with the Orioles effort to field a winning team and he wants to be traded. I doubt he is going anywhere but I hope he doesnt, hes a great player. Ive been a little dissapointed in the Orioles effort but it is getting increasingly difficult to compete with the Yankees and Redsox bloated payroll every year. The Blue Jays look like they are trying to make a run next season but spending all that money to finish third place is foolish. It seems to me that it is going to be close to impossible for a team outside of Boston or New York to win the AL east until there is a salary cap in baseball. The Orioles have money to spend but they cant and wont spend like Boston and New York do.
That would be tough for Baltimore fans if they gave into his demands. This guy is the premier shortstop in baseball. If they do give him up, they better get a whole heck of a lot in return for this guy.
update, Tejada has since said that he never wanted to be traded, he was just trying to pressure the Orioles into making some moves.
Miguel Tejada for Mark Prior?? Just heard them talking about it on ESPN. I do not like it as a Chicago fan. Prior is young and has a ton of upside. I would trade Kerry Wood for Miguel Tejada, but I do not know if Baltimore would go for that.

GO WHITE SOX!!!
