My mouse darts to the sides of the screen, and sometimes the opposite direction I point it in. Any suggestions? I ran Norton antivirus and Spybot, both came up nil for virus' and trojans.

Trackball? Optical? Normal plane jane ball on the bottom mouse?

IBM thinkpad. the little red eraser tip that is between the "BGH" keys. "trackpoint".


P.S. I plugged a mouse in the usb port and the mouse works. Unless I hit the trackpoint, then it's screwy again.
