I hope he can make it back. An ACL's usually a 2 year injury.

Bears take chance on Moore's bad knee

By Len Pasquarelli
ESPN.com

Strong safety Damon Moore, discarded by the Philadelphia Eagles after tearing up his knee in the 2001 NFC championship game, is returning to the league with a team that he helped to eliminate from the playoffs last year.

Moore, 25, has signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears, ESPN.com has learned, and the deal could be worth about $1.8 million. Moore had an interception and six tackles in the Eagles' 33-19 division-round victory at Chicago on Jan. 19.

In the past 10 days, Moore also visited with officials of the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots in addition to the Bears. All three clubs seem convinced that the former Ohio State star will be able to contribute at some point in the 2002 season, something that the Eagles did not believe.
Judging by your posts, it really seems like the Bears are cleaning house in the free agent market, bolstering that defense that was already full of studs. If they got some offensive weapons to go with it look out!
I really like the way they've been doing it to. We got Mike Caldwell at a blue-light special price. Considering he's a 9 year vet,7 year starter on one of the better defenses in the league. (Philly) Then, Keith McKenzie only has about $600K in guaranteed money & I think Moore only has about $100K guaranteed. Both of their contracts are incentive laden. Great for us & for them.
Caldwell has a more "traditional" contract, but he's worth the risk IMO. He's never been hurt that I know of.

About our O.
We have nothing but young recievers. Marty Booker, (100 catches last year) is heading into his 4th year, David Terrell-2nd, Dez White-3rd, Ahmad Merritt-2nd (3rd in NFLe & practice squad)& of course..Marcus Robinson. He's coming off an ACL headed into his 5th year. If he's back & healthy, all the other recievers get a whole lot better through no effort of their own. MRob's that good, when healthy.
They say that recievers usually "come into their own" in their 3rd year. If our youngsters can catch the ball this year, we're going to be a legit threat through the air. That's right, Da Bears, a passing team. Not that 60% of our plays will be through the air, but for Da Bears, 55% is a lot. We run.
Speaking of running, the 2001 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Anthony (A-train) Thomas, has been working out at Halas Hall since February. They say he took 6 weeks off & then got right back into conditioning. David Terrell joined him. (they were teammates at Michigan)He can only get better. Plus, he didn't start until week 5 last year, then missed a game with a pulled hammy. Imagine him, healthy, in the best shape of his life,& a year under his belt.

Toss Chris Chandler into the mix behind an o-line that gave up only 17 sacks last year (fewest in the league) & our O looks pretty interesting,IMO.

Other than playing all 16 games on the road, I'm REALLY looking forward to this season.
I had forgot about Chandler, he is a good solid QB (definitley an improvement over Miller) I was just hoping the Redskins would pick him up.
