Running back Jamal Anderson has agreed in principle to a contract with the Patriots. The former Pro Bowl running back played the last eight seasons with Atlanta but was hampered by serious knee injuries the past two years. Anderson, the creator of the famous "Dirty Bird" touchdown dance, led the NFL in rushing in the 1998 season, when the Falcons made their only Super Bowl appearance. The Patriots already have a strong corps of running backs -- Antowain Smith, who signed a long-term contract in the offseason, J.R. Redmond and Kevin Faulk.
