The College Football Spread Challenge

Each Tues/Weds, I will post ten Saturday games and the current Vegas spread. The spreads listed will be early spreads, but it's irrelevant. All you need to do in the challenge is pick the team that you think will beat the spread.

Example:

Japan (-10) v China

If you think China will win.. post China.
If you think Japan will win, but by 9 points or less.. post China.
If you think Japan will win by 11 or more points.. post Japan.

Make sense? Remember.. if Japan wins by exactly 10 points, it's a push and it's a loss for you.

All games will always be Saturday games.
All ACC games will always be included, if applicable.
The home team will always be listed first.

Remember that the spread is always a negative number, but it's given to the team expected to win!

Please keep the games in the same order as posted.
Please only post your picks (not their opponent).

Last rule: All picks must be posted no later than 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings!

Good Luck!

Wow. I am surprised by how good I did!!
man..I won't miss next week challenge..

go cougs!!
...That's a cool game, i'd play, but i don't know enough about fball.
TPC: This is a good game to play to learn more about college football. The odds that Vegas comes out with, basically make your picks a 50/50 chance. So, really, it's sometimes as much luck as anything else to win this thing. In fact, some weeks there are so many upsets (like this past weekend) that no one does better than 5 out of 10. Truthfully, if anyone got an 8 or 9 on this thing this week.. I'd say.. wow that person knows nothing about college football.. LOL.

Anyway, I've been doing pools for a 'few' years now and it's actually a fun way to learn a sport. You'd be amazed how much closer attention you pay when you have something at stake.. even if it's only bragger's rights like this pool is.
Well, why should anything else have gone right this weekend? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="rolleyes.gif" />

7 or 8 losses? Uh, no. We don't have that many teams as good as Miami on our schedule, dude... and we won't play that poorly every game either.

teams as good as Miami?? this was Miami of Ohio, not Miami of Florida.

you're saying that State, Syracuse, Texas, Fla St, G Tech, Maryland, and Clemson aren't as good as a 6-5 MAC team???
Is Miami 6-5 this year? My bad -- I thought they were 1-0. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="rolleyes.gif" />

I don't believe Syracuse is better -- so "no." I'll let you know about the rest when I see them in action. You better believe we will beat a few of those teams, though... so that would mean less than 8 losses.

As it is, I think Miami is better than State. Yes, I said that. They have a better QB, at least (and this is supposed to be State's major strength). Believe it or not, Carolina and State are close to each other in talent. State just has that cake schedule that is allowing them to walk all over everyone so far....
