Preakness Exacta Challenge
Saturday is the 127th running of the Preakness at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, MD. This challenge is going to be made fun for those that know nothing about horsebetting to those that think they know everything, but are still poor.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
There are 13 races running on Saturday.. the first one starting at 10:30 a.m. and the last one starting at 7:05 p.m.
Your challenge is to pick the EXACTA BOXED winners of each race.. which means.. you must pick the horses that will come in first and/or second place for each race (EXACTA), but not which will be first and which will be second (BOXED). Unlike at the REAL races, if either or both horses finish in first OR second place, points will be awarded as outlined below. So, for this Challenge, you do get credit if only one of your picks per race wins.
The link below lists all the horses that are currently scheduled to run that day. NOTE: some horses may end up getting scratched and will not run. This is a hazard of the game. If a horse you picked gets scratched after the deadline, you cannot get points for that horse for that race. HOWEVER, if a horse you picked gets scratched ahead of time (not likely), you may change your picks by editing. HOWEVER, the
deadline for this challenge is 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18th. No edits will be accepted date, May 18. Changes after midnight on the 17th will need to be deleted and re-posted before 10:00 a.m. 5/18 [b]
Scoring: As much as I would like to score this by odds.. there's no way I'm going to do that! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> The Challenge will be scored accordingly:
</font><ul type="square">[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> If only 1 of 2 horses picked finishes 2nd, you will receive 3 points for that race.</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> If only 1 of 2 horses picked finishes 1st, you will receive 5 points for that race.</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> If you correctly choose the Exacta (Boxed) and both horses finish 1st OR 2nd, you will receive 10 points for that race.</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> BONUS: If any one picks the correct Exacta (Boxed) for the Preakness Stakes Race (Race #12), you will receive 20 points for that race!!</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> 140 points is the maximum possible score for this challenge.

Well I know what I'll be doing tonight -- seeing which names I like the best. Horse racing is one of the few sports about which I know absolutely nothing, therefore I will fall back on the "cool name" philosophy. I seem to remember an episode of 90210 where Brandon, Steve & Nat took Andrea with them to the track because she was picking winners by how she liked the names. She was my favorite character, so I will follow her lead. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="cool.gif" />

I know some of you like to make your picks based on odds, etc. However, I did not link that information because I do not want to make the challenge hard or initimidating to those that know nothing about horsebetting.
