I have been playing since the challenge was posted. I'm no expert but here's what I've found.
1. Figure out your shot
2. Click/hold left mouse button on stick and move line to desired object ball
3. Click on big cue ball in the upper right section to select spin
4. re-click on stick
5. use left/right arrow keys to fine tune the angle of shot
Note: Any help someone can give on aiming would be helpful
6. Use down(pull back) and up arrow keys to set power
7. Use space bar to shoot.
In a timed game, these must be done in order to prevent setting the shot and being stuck on the spin select while time is running down. If time runs down and the shot is "sorta set", quickly right click on the stick to pull back and let go. The right click "pull back" is much faster than re-clicking and using the down/up arrow keys with the space bar.

Overspin on the break gets more power and better mix.
I saw a good player shoot the break off the side rail. I scratch when I do this.
