The ACC Baseball Tournament is a double elimination tournament. The bracket is complicated, but to make it easier, I would suggest you go through the bracket according to the Game Number (you'll see what I mean). That is very important because the brackets shuffle near the end. I would also suggest printing out a copy of this bracket and writing in your entries first.
Take a glance at the bracket,
then scroll below the bracket to see 3 important guidelines.
POINT SYSTEM:
Every game you pick correctly worth 10 points. If you pick the Tournament finalists correctly, you'll be awarded 15 points for each. Picking the conference champion will be worth 20 points.
[EDIT: There's been a little change...because of the short time before the tournament starts, there will NO deadline, but there will be no points awarded for every game that you miss. So, if you wait until 4pm Wednesday to sign up, you'll be disqualified in the first 4 games.]
As always, NO edited posts will be allowed...If you make a mistake, delete it and post again.
Good luck! If you have any questions, either reply to the thread or PM me.
NOTE: Game 1 (Duke/Md.) is a play-in game. The loser is eliminated.
**:On Saturday, the match-up between the 4 remaining teams is determined by previous opponents. For example, say the final four teams are #1 FSU, #5 GT, #3 UNC, and #7 NCST. If FSU and GT have previously played in, then the highest seeded team (in this case FSU) would play the lowest seeded other team (NCST) and UNC would play GT. This is a complicated rule, but it should get clearer when you actually do the bracket.
If it is impossible to avoid a previous match-up, then the determination is based on avoiding the MOST RECENT tournament match-up.
If no previous match-ups have occured, the team left in the Winners' Bracket will play the lowest seeded team from the Losers' Bracket.
***: In the Championship Game, the final team from the Losers' Bracket (Game 14 Winner) must beat the final team from the Winners' Bracket (Game 13 Winner) TWICE to win the Tournament. For instance, if the Gm14 Winner wins Saturday night, the tournament is over. If the Gm13 Winner wins, the two teams will play again Sunday afternoon for the title.
If the winner of Game 12 loses in Game 13, that team will recieve a bye to Game 16 (Champ.Gm #2, Sunday afternoon) and will play the winner of Game 15 for the title.
To make it easier to keep score, either copy and paste or quote this when entering your picks.

If so, then what's stopping someone from waiting until day one's games are over so they'll know who has a better chance later in the tourney?

No biggie, FSU ended up winning. It just might have changed some people's minds about picking FSU to win it all if they had gone down today....

Wake Forest beats NC State 12-4. Sweet!
Question: when I originally filled out my bracket, I had:
Game 10: Tech
Game 11: UNC
Game 12: FSU
But, due to circumstances on Thursday, Tech and UNC actually ended up playing each other. However, since I did pick Tech today and they did win, do I get credit for the pick, even if it was game 11 that they won rather than 10?

The bracket splits up so many ways that it's nearly impossible to pick all the exact games. So as long as the winning teams are correct it won't matter which game they're in.
