Did anyone else find humor in the fact that Duke walked away with half the awards for the best players in the country when they didn't even make the elite eight while playing in the easiest bracket and after all serious competition had already been removed for them???

If they are all as good as ESPN says they are... where are they now?

Of course it is ridiculous what ESPN does with and for Duke.

But what is really mysterious is that they can have:
3 1st Team All-ACC players
2 All-ACC Defensive players
a Hall of Fame coach
the National Player of the Year

...and Duke still couldn't win the ACC regular season or get past the Sweet 16.

Upsets in the NCAA tournament do not make or break a season. You are basing Duke's season on one game, which is not fair. What you don't realize is that Duke:

blew out UVA
blew out Iowa
blew out Wake2x
beat a hot UK team
won the acc tournament
went 16-3 in a very dangerous ACC

I didnt watch the awards but let me get this straight, Dunlady got the best small forward award over Caron Butler, despite the fact that Dunlady is the 4 on Duke. We all know that Dunlady isnt a power forward just like Prince isnt and Terrence Morris wasnt but how can he be the best 3 in the country when he doesnt even play the three? Oh yeah and there is no way that Dunlady is better than Caron Butler.

As for Mr. Nate Jones' comments about how one game in the tournament doesnt make the season. You are just wrong. Last year Iowa State had a great season but they lost in the first round of the tournament to a 15 seed, and that is all that anyone remembers. On the other hand Temple had a bad regular season but then went on to make the elite 8 so it is all forgiven. And when your team lost to Maryland and then to Virginia werent they saying that what happens now didnt matter and all they cared about was another National Championship? I am sorry Nate but you are wrong and you know it. The NC was all that mattered to Dook this year and they didnt even make it past the sweet 16. Your team sucks and this season will go down as one of the biggest Chokes ever for Dook basketball. You were up by 17 to a not so good Indiana team (yes they are in the final four, but everyone knows they are the weakest teamt there) and you lost, you choked and that is all that matters. Nobody cares if you beat Maryland once this season or that you beat Kentucky or Blew out a bad UVA team that later beat the pitiful Dookies. All that matters is the Tournament and the loser Blue Devils choked.

Your season was unsuccessful because all season all the idiot players on your idiot team did was talk about how nothing mattered except the National Championship and then you lost in the round of 16 if you think you had a successful season you are fooling nobody else but yourself. Did you see Jwilly after your loser team lost to Indiana he was crying because he failed in his attempt to win another NC. If you dont think your season was a failure you are nothing but a hipocrite after all season after every loss you just said it doesnt matter because all we care about is the National Championship. For years the Terps were labeled as chokers, whether they were rightly or wrongly labeled is a debate for another time. Duke came into this season wanting nothing but winning the NC and they didnt so your season is a failure. If The Terps didnt make the final four I would have viewed our season as a failure despite 15-1 in conference and not losing at home. IMO it would have been a failure of a season to lose in the sweet 16. You Dookies can sugar coat it all you want but your season was a failure.

I would think any team with 3 ESPN players of the year and a decent coach could do better. So what is it? Koack K sucks or you have to admit some players got the benefit of the Dickie V bias? Has to be one or the other. Please decide and let us know before the championship game.

I think one of the most amazing aspects of this board is the collective group of Dook posters who go on the defensive whenever anything anti-Dook is brought up.

I didn't get on the defensive until someone attacked me personally. Saying that I'm 13 is ridiculous when the rest of the people on this board do as much trash-talking (if not more) than I do. But because I'm me, I get labeled as a 13-year old when in reality I'm working my butt off in college. I don't appreciate someone saying that I sound stupid. I'm not...I'm just going along with everyone else in regards to going back and forth verbally. If I'm 13, then a lot of people on this board are still newborns.

Can a person have a little fun without acting like they know everything about basketball with long "informative" posts? Most of what I want to say has already been said by people who have posted before me. So basically I agree, or I try to shed a little humor on things. Either that, or I decide to participate in a little ribbing like everyone else on these boards do. But I have come to the conclusion that I'm not doing that anymore because I get jumped on.
