This applies mostly to those in East Mississippi, and definitely Starkville...but you better use it for the whole state if traveling there.

HOW TO DRINK WINE
1. When decanting wine, make sure that you tilt the paper cup, and pour slowly so as not to "bruise" the fruit of the vine.
2. If drinking directly from the bottle, always hold it with your fingers covering the sales label.

ENTERTAINING IN YOUR HOME
1. A centerpiece for the table should never be anything prepared by a taxidermist.
2. Do not allow the dog to eat at the table no matter how good his manners are.

PERSONAL HYGIENE
1. While ears need to be cleaned regularly, this is a job that should be done in private using one's OWN truck keys.
2. Proper use of toiletries can forestall bathing for several days. However, if you live alone, deodorant is a waste of good money.
3. Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a social no-no, as they tend to detract from a woman's jewelry and alter the taste of finger foods.

DATING (Outside the Family)
1. Always offer to bait your date's hook, especially on the first date.
2. Be aggressive. Let her know you're interested. "I've been wanting to go out with you since I read that stuff on the bathroom wall two years ago."
3. Establish with her parents what time she is expected back. Some will say 10:00 PM; others might say "Monday." If the latter is the answer it is the man's responsibility to get her to school on time.

THEATER ETIQUETTE
1. Crying babies should be taken to the lobby and picked up immediately after the movie has ended.
2. Refrain from talking to characters on the screen. Tests have proven they can't hear you.

WEDDINGS
1. Livestock, usually, is a poor choice for a wedding gift.
2. Kissing the bride for more than 5 seconds may get you shot.
3. For the groom, at least, rent a tux. A leisure suit with a cummerbund and a clean bowling shirt can create a tacky appearance.
4. Though uncomfortable, say "yes" to socks and shoes for this special occasion.

DRIVING ETIQUETTE
1. Dim your headlights for approaching vehicles; even if the gun is loaded, and the deer is in sight.
2. When approaching a four-way stop, the vehicle with the largest tires always has the right of way.
3. Never tow another car using panty hose and ducttape.
4. When sending your wife down the road with a gas can, it is impolite to ask her to bring back a beer.
5. Never relieve yourself from a moving vehicle, especially when driving.
6. Do not lay rubber while traveling in a funeral procession.

TIPS FOR ALL OCCASIONS
1. Never take a beer to a job interview.
2. Always identify people in your yard before shooting at them.
3. It's considered tacky to take a cooler to church.
4. If you have to vacuum the bed, it is time to change the sheets.
5. Even if you're certain that you are included in the will, it is still considered tacky to drive a U- Haul to the funeral home.
6.If the postman is always complimenting your baby..Thank him ,He might know what he is talking about

it was there a few weeks ago posted by saterp or something- he/she went on a trip to Arkansas and was giving us some very "educational" feedback
Seriously, not to insult the 'Hogs, but who the heck take a "trip to Arkansas"? I've honestly never heard of that in my 31 years on this planet (or the 975,000,000 years before I arrived here ).
I'll be glad to answer that for you ahm4au

First, US Presidents. Check the history books. The first football and basketball games to be attended by active US Presidents were BOTH Arkansas games held in Fayetteville. Football was the 69 Arkansas-Tex-ASS game (Nixon), and basketball was the 93 Arkansas- TX Southern game (Clinton). In 2003, it is expected that President Bush will attend the NCAA indoor track championships, making him the first president to attend that sport while in office, again at Arkansas. Guess UA is "The First Team".

Lots of business travelers. With 3 Fortune 500 companies, including the largest company in the world..the Fayetteville/NW Arkansas metro area gets many a business traveler's dollar. Just for example..the Wal-Mart Shareholder's Meeting was at Bud Walton Arena 2 weeks ago. Among CEOs from Goodyear, Fuji, Nabisco, and others..was supermodel Cindy Crawford, and QB legends Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, John Elway, and Dan Marino. (Those 4 QBs also were here last Oct. at Razorback Stadium for the Auburn game, calling those HOGS to victory). Now, how much tourism and business dollars does Auburn get? (no offense)

In fact, check out Forbes top 25 Best Places list. These consist of all areas with a metro pop. of over 200,000 people.

More? Sure, why not.

Fayetteville has recently built themselves a new airport as well. The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) has daily flights to Chicago O'-Hare, Dallas, Memphis, St. Louis, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, New York - LaGuardia, Charlotte, and Kansas City. More flights and more airlines with bigger planes are expected very soon.

The city also has had 10 new hotels in the last year built, with a Crowne Plaza being built in downtown, and an Embassy Suites coming this fall.

The 'redneck' stereotype does not apply here.

As for the rest of the state, Hot Springs makes tons of money as a resort area...which includes 3 lakes, an amusement park, and a horse track amongst other things. The rest of the state is well, like Alabama.

And all those facts and figures about Fayetteville are real nice, but my question referred to the state of Arkansas, not the city of Fayetteville, so the comparison to the city of Auburn does not apply. I'll be the first to admit that the state of Alabama is no tourist mecca, but it does have its share of natural beauty.

This has got to make us look intelligent and sophisticated in the eyes of the rest of the country. I've been guilty of it myself, though.

Anyway, I thought your original post was funny, I've just never heard Arkansas mentioned as a tourist hot-spot, and was commenting on that fact.

That was uncool! We'll make some barbecue this year!
LOL...

I think it's Tuberville that riles up the players..and also really has Nutt coaching sharp. Nutt knows he got the job over Tuberville, so I think each game his team is always a little more sharp than usual, to try and show Frank Broyles that they were right in picking him.

I was at the game, and frankly, I was surprised at how much offense we put up too! lol...but once Jones got the QB position, the offense put some numbers up.
