Lance Armstrong moved up from 5th to 3rd place after today's run in the Tour de France. He is expected to take the lead sometime next week when the race shifts to the mountains.

He is exactly where he wants to be. Once the race heads into the mountains, he will pull away.
Armstrong was involved in a crash today near the end of the race. He fell from 3rd to 8th in the overall standings because of it, but he is still expected to make his push later in the mountains and win the race. He is only 27 seconds behind, despite the crash.
After yesterday's race, Armstrong is in 2nd place - 26 seconds behind the leader.
Armstrong won today's stage and now has the overall lead by just over a minute.
