Former Cleveland and Atlanta player Craig Ehlo, who coaches a high school team in Spokane, spent a lot of hours on the practice floor with Dickau. He telephoned Hawks vice president and general manager Pete Babcock Thursday to congratulate him on the pick. His assessment: Dickau is Mark Price reinvented but bigger and stronger. "A very nice endorsement," Babcock said.

Dickau also impressed talent scouts. After he worked out for Toronto, which had the 20th pick, Toronto assistant general manager Bob Zuffelato said Dickau reminded him of "Steve Nash, John Stockton . . . a solid guard who can make the pick-and-roll play, who can run a team, who's tough mentally, tough physically and can score."

He added, "They're a lot alike, the three of these guys. I'm not comparing Dan Dickau to [Stockton or Nash], but I'm saying he has some of [their] qualities. He's not afraid to take a tough shot. He's a gritty defender. And I think, when the game is on the line, you want the ball in his hands."

I think its funny how he only gets compared to white guys. Nobody would ever compare "Jay" Williams to Stockton or Nash, even if it was a good comparison. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />
