I thought this would be interesting seeing that we have members from all over the country...
I would have to say mine is either the TPC at Sawgrass or Congressional's Blue Course...both very challenging and very memorable. I played the Blue Course right after they played the US Open there in 1997, they had yet to cut the rough, it was still about four inches high, and if you were off the fairway, you were in BIG trouble. Would like to forget my score from that day, but I can't. (97)

toughest course ive played at is Eisenhower -- which isnt saying much, but hey, im still only a junior and been playing for 2 1/2 years. I hope to get around to some really tough courses in near-future years.
Probably Washington-Duke. That course is long and narrow.
Augustine. Its about 45 minutes south of D.C. and hosts regional rounds for the U.S. Open. It's pretty amazing. I played it the week after they had a tournament and the greens were incredible. I literally had a putt roll off the green and back onto the fairway. I shot a 108.

Most historic - Baltusrol, NJ
By far the toughest - Ocean Course, Kiawah Island, SC
Scariest tee shot - 12th at the Challenge at Manele bay in Lanai, Hawaii. It's hard to concentrate on hitting a golf ball when you are trying not to fall off a cliff into the Ocean.
BB, I played a hole like that in Bermuda. You basically had to hit it over a gorge onto a tiny green. I hit twice. Once I hooked (I'm a lefty...) over the right and safely landed in a big pile of crap. The second, I sliced way out to the left into the ocean. It was definitely cool.
Where did you stay in Bermuda, LT?

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island is the most dramatic golf course I have ever seen. I played it when I was 10 (still playing from the reds) but I just remember some of the views being simply breathtaking. I also remember picking my ball up a whole hell of a lot, but hey, I was 10. Would love to some day get back there and take another crack at it.
I've played Pebble twice.
Nate - After you see some of the other great courses out there you won't consider WaDuke narrow anymore. I know they grow the rough at WaDuke pretty high, but I find the landing area genrous compared to other courses I've played.

Yea, LK, I haven't played any really tough courses.
Come to think of it, I played at Harbour Town in Hilton Head. They have a PGA tourney there usually annually. It's pretty tough, and pretty tough on the wallet, too. Beautiful course though.
Best course I've ever played is the TPC at Scottsdale. The PGA plays the Phoenix Open there. It's the course where Tiger hit the hole-in-one and condos lined the entire right side of the hole. Woods was raising the roof as he walked to the green. It was an amazing place to play.
One day I will not only paly these courses, I will win PGA events on them.
Wow.......alot of nice courses that people have gotten to play. My best friend was the chef at Sawgrass back in the mid 80's but that was before I started playing golf.
Best course I have probably played was Diamondback which is located outside of Toronto. I played it 2 weeks ago. They held a Buydot.com event there last year. The layout is excellent. I shot a 78 from the blue's (6600 yds) which wasan't bad considering it was only my 3rd time out this year. But I look forward to getting back there.
Weather here in NY has not been condusive for alot of golf play so far this year.
