Congrats or My Prayers Go out to You, Lou, as the former Seattle Mariner's Manager goes home to Tampa Bay to manage one of baseball's worst teams today, the Devel Rays.
I guess if anyone can do it, Pinella is that man. When he took the helm of the Mariners 12 years ago, they were near the bottom of the heap. By the mid-90's it became clear that the Mariners had turned the corner and were headed uptown.
Today, in spite of a "down" year in '02, Seattle is recognized as one of baseball's premier teams.
I think that the Rays will offer a much more difficult task than the one he inherited in Seattle in 1991.
