This is the stock market challenge. Since it is the first challenge, it will have a VERY generous time span, and fairly easy subject matter.
Official Rules:
Every tribe member must pick a legit stock from either the DOW Jones or the NASDAQ composite. (You will post the trading symbol and the full name of the company here). You may not choose a stock already chosen.
You have until 7:00 AM EST October 31st to post your choice. If you fail to post a choice within that time limit, then we will choose one at random out of this group:
AOL-Time Warner, Microsoft, Starbucks, IBM, Yahoo!, Gateway, McDonalds.
If your stock was chosen at random from these because you failed to post... your score will computed as follows:
If the change in the stock that was randomly selected is positive... we multiply that by negative one to get your score.
If the change in the stock that was randomly selected is negative... we use that as your score.
Basically... it hurts no matter what.
At the end of trading on October 31st, your stock will either have had a positive increase, or a negative increase. We will add and subtract the increases/decreases for each tribe and come up with a total.
The highest total (positive) out of the two tribes is the winner of the challenge.
Edited posts, regardless of timestamp, will not be accepted as valid posts. If the player's only stock choices are in an edited posted, it is scored as if the player never bothered to post at all.
If more than the necessary amount of stocks are entered by a player, just the FIRST STOCK PICKED will be used.
Invalid stock choices (symbols / names that do not show up when searched for) are counted as a failure to post anything before the deadline.

Deadline is 7 AM EST Thursday.
