With the $10MM luxury tax which each team must pay combined with the $117MM salary cap, both dictated by the agreement lin August, many of the BIG spenders, including the Yankees, will be curbing in their free agent spending this year.
This year's crop of free agents are not in the A. Rod, etc class that will demand those salaries, there are some standouts like Greg Maddux, Tommy Glavine, Roger Clemons to name a few.
A changing of the guards in both leagues could be in the offering.
