what has happened to Jorge Posada? he is hitting .269 with 10 HR and 33 RBI. There's no reason to sugarcoat it. those stats stink.
The Red Sox are freakin pathetic. And i'm not just saying that because i watched the latest debacle tonight. they really are pathetic. Francona should murder himself before the fans in Boston take up that chore. And by the way. this is not a real rivalry. in a real rvialry both teams win. when was the last time the sox beat the yanks in a meaningful series?
the big hurt is leading the AL with 63 walks. Barry Bonds has 61 walks this season. Oops. i mean 61 INTENTIONAL walks!
The Astros are 2-3 with Beltran, and are now in 5th place in the NL central.
Pudge is insane! (as you already knew)
What kind of a person would i be if i didn't mention the amazin' devil rays. Anybody who says the manager doesn't make a huge difference, has a problem. Just look at the red Sox and the d-rays. The Sox might be in 1st place if they had pinella as their manager.
what would you do to lee mazilli if you were an oriole fan? all that money, and such a bad team. what a shame. The one pleasant surprise for the orioles has been the emergence of the rookie daniel cabrera. Hey Gdawgs, that's one rookie who has been good.
the astros have two relief pitcher who are on pace to throw 95 innings this season (lidge and miceli) and another one who is on pace to throw 85 innings (weathers). Houston gets pretty hot in August.
ned yost is a god! congrats to his skills.
Since i'm a giants fan, i have to mention how they have the 5th best record in baseball, even though they suck and have no bullpen.
Okay.....
That was fun to read about.

if you're a baseball fan it is. But you're just an idiot, not a baseball fan. you might be more suited to read this:

They play with the roof closed if its real hot outside

i recognize they have a roof. but seeing as how it's not closed for every game, and it is always hot in houston during the summer, i'd say that the players will be playing in the heat. Also, you forget that they play on the road. and not all teams have a dome. it gets pretty hot in st. louis during the summer.

Right you are. He sure made my Braves look bad last week.

He came from the Braves. What did ya expect?

I have a random thought:
Everybody talks about the turnaround Derek Jeter has had, but Jose Vidro has had an even more impressive one. He was batting under .200 at one point but he is up to .294! Big props to him.

when was vidro batting under .200? vidro's lowest point was at .225. jeter, on the other hand, was batting .161 at one point. i think jeter's turnaround was a little better.

It was early, for most of the season until late he was hanging around .220-.230.
Jeter hits in the Yankees lineup. The fact that Vidro has turned it around in the Expos lineup is impressive.

?
i looked through vidro's game log for the season, and there was never a time he was hitting under .200.

for a singles hitter, it really doesn't make a lot of difference. The pitchers aren't going to go out of their way to walk vidro. Jeter would probably get a few more fastballs than vidro, but for the most part, it isn't much of a difference. especially when vidro get's to play in a dome and in hiram bithorn, when jeter has to play in yankee stadium.
On another thread we talked abut the lack of runs scored by Vidro this season, you can't really blame him for that.

i'm not blaming him. and i really don't remember talking about that either.

I never said you did.
I just want some respect for Vidro. The Expos stink and he could have packed it in early, but he kept battling.

vidro does deserve respect. But can i ask you a question? he still gets his paycheck doesn't he?
