nate jonesacc Wrote:But wait, I thought that points didn't matter, and it wasn't Jack's job to score?
BTW, Felton is averaging 7 points, 5 rebs, and 8 assists.

I was giving Felton credit
as in 7.5 ppg and 8.5 apg
If a point guard can score like Jack, its a bonus....thats something Felton hasn't proved yet
Rick, my point was that Drejer is no where near good enough to be a top 10 recruit from the 2002 class.
Techfan...
Jack is a good scorer, but his team skills are piss poor.
Revised list...
Blake
Duhon
Ed Scott
Hodge
Felton
Taron Downey
Billet/Jack tie
whoever for FSU
nate jonesacc Wrote:Rick, my point was that Drejer is no where near good enough to be a top 10 recruit from the 2002 class.
nate...you disapoint me, this kid could have been a top 15 draft pick this past year if he wanted to...
nate jonesacc Wrote:Techfan...

BAHHH!!! And Duhon is?
VERY funny Nate...VERY funny
Duhon isnt proven either...no help from Jay, Mike, or Carlos
Hodge? A point guard? He's a 6'6'' good for nothing shooting guard...
I thought that Carrawell(Carraway? wahtever his name is) was the point guard?
The reason Jack wasn't "a team player" early vs. UGA, is because we couldn't get anything going offensivley, so Jack stepped up, and got some quick baskets to put us back in the game...
The only other guy on that list that has that ability is Steve Blake
<!--EDIT|techfan4|Nov 29 2002, 04:12 PM-->
LMFAO!
Duhon just dropped 20/10 and 8, 2 rebounds away from a triple double against a good PG.
Ask State fans who will be running the point for them this year.
Chris Carawell???? Duke class of 00?
DUHON is preseason ACC POY! Gimme a break.
<a href='http://northcarolina.theinsiders.com/2/73664.html' target='_blank'>http://northcarolina.theinsiders.com/2/73664.html</a>
DT, I stand corrected on Drejer, while he isn't top 5 in the 2002 class, he is top 20.
nate jonesacc Wrote:Jack is a good scorer, but his team skills are piss poor.
Jack had 12 assists in both the Nike game and the APB game against 4 and 10 points respectively. I agree with Techfan4 completely in saying that Jack was FORCED to take it in and score the first half against UGA because none of the other guys were open. He does what needs to be done. He looks first and if the open man isn't there he is a scorer...that's what a point guard needs to do IMO.
gtballgirl Wrote:nate jonesacc Wrote:Jack is a good scorer, but his team skills are piss poor.
Jack had 12 assists in both the Nike game and the APB game
against an exhibition team and the WORST team in Div 1?

Clifford Crawford (Had to get my ACC Handbook out)
techfan4 Wrote:Clifford Crawford (Had to get my ACC Handbook out)
1) Clifford Crawford will not start for State @ PG.
2) Hypothetically, if he did, State would be in big trouble.
Nonetheless, Julius Hodge will start for State.
nate jonesacc Wrote:Nonetheless, Julius Hodge will start for State.
I have to agree with Nate, but I know that Herby would like to have a "true" PG running his team, so look for a switch at some point...

With playing time equal to that of the walk-ons on the team, yes.

gts, You don't get it...
Against AUPB,
I could probably hold my own.
 Id like to see you play
Hold your own? BAAHHHHHH
Oh the possibilities

DUDE, It is ARKANSAS PINE BLUFF!
Someone on this board can guarantee that PINE BLUFF HIGH could beat AUPB, and the HS didn't even make the playoffs.
That's like saying a college team could beat a pro team. Get a clue.
georgia_tech_swagger Wrote:That's like saying a college team could beat a pro team. Get a clue.
WTF are you talking about?
There are SOOOO many HS teams that could beat SOOOO many college teams it's not even funny. Oak Hill, for example, could beat AUPB, I guarantee it.
Maybe Oak Hill, but yourslef? PLEASE!!!!
Very Funny Nate
techfan4 Wrote:Maybe Oak Hill, but yourslef? PLEASE!!!!

Wow, someone taking that a little too seriously.
But really, I think ECHHS (East Chapel Hill High School) could beat AUPB. No joke.
And hoops13 can attest to the fact that ECHHS is for real.
who cares if Arkansas Pine Bluff sucks...we can all agree on that!!! That's why we KICKED THEIR ASSES and we've moved on to beating ranked teams...knock it off already...isn't beating UGA enough to get you off the subject of us killing UAPB only because they suck?? WE'RE GOOD! GET OVER IT!!

Did I ever say you weren't? Calm down!
GT is good, Jarrett Jack isn't... yet.
I said that the problem GT will face is when Jarrett Jack meets much better PGs like Duhon, Blake, Ed Scott, Hodge etc.... which will happen.
Considering he already faced Ezra Williams and Rashaad Wright, and beat, I would imagine you would cut him some slack
Another great performance by Chris Bosh, 17 points 12 rebounds, his 3rd double-double in as many games, and Jarrett Jack had 9 points, and im not sure how many assists yet...
Jarrett Jack: 9 points 5 rebounds 8 assists 1 steal in 26 minutes
Chris Bosh: 17 points 12 rebounds 1 assist
Now, you were saying Nate?

techfan4 Wrote:Jarrett Jack: 9 points 5 rebounds 8 assists 1 steal in 26 minutes

Wait, I can see it now...
"Dude, it's Gardner-Webb."

don't worry about nate's opinion..he thinks Nick Horvath is going to be a force for Duke this year
Horvath looks like something out of a Munsters revival...
![[Image: horvath.jpg]](http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/duke/sports/m-baskbl/01-02roster/horvath.jpg)

He also thinks Horvath can shoot threes...well I got news for him, So can 7'1'' Luke Schenscher(hit a 3 today from about 2 feet away from the 3 point line)
I got news for ya.
Horvath DOMINATED DREW GOODEN in high school. He has finally, after injuries, gotten his old game back. AND, he won the Capital Classic 3 pt. shootout, so please tell me he can't shoot threes.
And, like JJ so brilliantly put it... It's Gardner Webb. Duhon posted even better numbers against UCLA! Felton dropped like 16 on Stanford, Blake had 13 assists last night... etc....
Jarrett Jack's 9 points and 8 assists aren't sh*t compared to the rest of the ACC's PGs.
Hell, besides maybe Billet and definitely FSU's PG, I would take EVERY ACC team's starting PG over Jack.
BTW, I don't need to see Bosh's stats. He's a beast.

BTW, Techfan, you might wanna spell your coach's name correctly.
It's GailEy.
DamascusTerp2 Wrote:don't worry about nate's opinion..he thinks Nick Horvath is going to be a force for Duke this year

Yes, you are correct.
Simply put, Nick Horvath is the ugliest player in college hoops. Even Duke women won't hook up with that dude.
The girlz down at Clemson might.
Well, no, they wouldn't either.
since this thread is definately about who would sleep with Horvath...i thought it was about God, i mean Chris Bosh!! Since we all watch college hoops for to find out who is worth sleeping with...NO! KNOCK IT OFF!
nate jonesacc Wrote:And, like JJ so brilliantly put it... It's Gardner Webb. Duhon posted even better numbers against UCLA! Felton dropped like 16 on Stanford, Blake had 13 assists last night... etc....
Well yeah, but the Terps hammered Duquesne, which is in the same category as G-Webb, or any of these other cupcake teams. I'm not saying Jack is better than Blake or anything like that...just thought I'd point that out.

I thought you said you'd take Billet's left foot over Jack. Having a change of heart, are we?

Now THAT is analysis. This kid looks a lot like Shareef Abdur-Rahim when he started his career at Cal. For the ACC's sake, I hope he stays at Tech for 3-4 years. He could be one of the best the league has seen in a long time (at least since Tim Duncan).

Don't forget though, Gardner Webb took Tennessee down to the wire, and they aren't bad 3 point shooters
Tenn. 71
GWebb 69
Eat at me all you want, but you haven't even seen GWebb...next time, watch a team before you react/comment

It was on FSN. I saw you play them for a half.
BTW, you might wanna realize that your own team's record is 3-0, not 2-0.

Because he wouldn't be busy?
Anyone see the last play of the game against Minnesota?
BTW, Jack had a ton of TOs by my count.
Yes, I saw Marvin nearly knock down a 45 footer.
Jack gets too excited and tries to make highlight reel plays too often.... but he will learn ... Hewitt is a great coach.
Bosh single handedly put Tech in a position to win AGAIN.
BTW Nate, did you see Jack rough up the Gophers on the fast break and by dribble penetration into the zone to feed other players? Nooooooo - must be that Dook selective memory.
You know, if I had said that, emme, God would've struck me down faster than Coach K hits on a recruit during a visit.

Agreed, he will probably get ACC ROY, IMO. He's a beast.

Yes, I also saw him dribble off his foot, throw it away many times, dribble off his knee...
^ up dere
i'm still here. god loves me.
