the "save" statistic is extremely overrated. Matt herges is top 5 in the NL in saves, but he is a really bad closer.
If I were in charge, you get the save if you enter the game with a one run lead, that is it.
I agree the save rules suck, but Graves has still done an amazing thing in getting 30 saves this early.
