I think me and a few friends are heading to Athens to watch our Tigers in the opener. I was just wondering if any of you guys planned on being at the game? I hope we crush UGA & represent the ACC!!
Lot of history, I'm glad to see the series revived for a couple of more times. I graduated in '81. So you know I've seen some good ones. Even traveled to Death Valley, it is an impressive sight, looks like a skyscraper on the S.C landscapes when you drive up. I expect it to be a tough one. Here is hoping for a good tough fought match!
Go Dawgs!

I think it should be a great game. From hearing your coach speak, I think he's underestimating us along with everyone else, like we have no all-acc players on our team - watch out!
There are two points I want to make, first, I have not heard Richt badmouth or disrespect the Clemson team. Can you give me some quote, or a link to this....it is news to me. Secondly, a lot of Georgia fans themselves may be talking this up this years Clemson squad saying it is the weakest team they have fielded in a number of years.
I just haven't heard him talk about Clemson at all in the preseason, as if you guys are going to blow right passed us on Aug. 31.
TigerFreak, Georgia fans worry about every opponent. Of course we have Tennessee, we have (your buddies) the 'cocks at Columbia, we have the Gators, Auburn, Alabama. A whole bunch that can trip us up, we also have Vanderbilt, Kentuckey and Clemson. We worry about them all, and don't talk about blowing past anyone. Thank God you don't play Florida, that is the team famous for spouting off about how they will blow you out. Georgia fans are not like that. Well, some are.
TigerFreak...I have been to Death Valley twice and rubbed the Rock...but UGA will win by atleast 2 TD's against you this year!!
NCGatorbait is one of the smartest Gators I know!

Dawg...quit lying...just telling the truth!!It may be worse..CU is hurting!!
Just remeber you guys play us next year in DEATH VALLEY - so go ahead and get your smack talking over with pups!
TigerFreak, I don't want this to generate into an endless smackfest either. I would be happy to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of our respective teams, to talk about keys to winning the upcoming game, or since you are going to the game, I could tell you where to park to places to go see in Athens.
Not too much longer, until we can quit talking about what will happen and start talking about what has happened.

Will tickets be fairly easy to find right before the game? Where do you suggest the best parking is? Thanks

The best place to park is Village Apartments, then cut through the cemetery, you'll see a stream of people going that way. It is the best because it will keep you out of the traffic jam after the game. Tickets will be easy to find, figure around $50 bucks apiece. Since it is a night game, might was well get there early enough to do a little tailgaiting and milling around before the game. The bridge by the bookstore is the main ticket swap area.

Thanks for the reply Dawg. Are the bars downtown close enough to the stadium to walk there and drink a few before the game or do you suggest the traditional tailgatting in the parking lots.
I'll probably just tailgate to begin with, but if we come away with a victory I'm heading to the bars to celebrate in Athens. GO TIGERS!
Oh yeah, downtown Athens is adjacent to North Campus, maybe a mile to a mile and a half walk directly through North Campus from the downtown bars to the stadium. This is the old part of the school, very beautiful. Remember it is a saturday night game, therefore the bars are forced to close on Sunday (as in midnight). You won't have much chance to drink after the end of the game. You will probably need one though after the shellshocking we put you through. But there will be a ton of parties going on. BTW, that bell you will hear ringing is rung after every Georgia win by the Freshman class. Consider it a bad sign if you happen to hear it. All kidding aside, here is hoping we have a good clean game and noone gets hurt.
It's just so hard to believe that our first game is going to start in about 30 days. IM PUMPED!
