like the astros, the white sox are a now or never team. IMO miguel olivo will one day be a very good catcher. Jeremy reed is one of the Sox' best prospects. So if they don't win this year, it'll take a long time to get back to where they are now. Garcia is a free agent, magglio is a free agent, thomas is old, valentin is old.
All in all, the mariners seem to have made a good trade. And the Sox better hope loaiza can get somewhere close to his dominating performance of last year, because he isn't anywhere near that, this season.
I liked Freddy on the M's, but that's ok, as long as the Yanks make it to the World Series.
Wow, the M's came out pretty good in this deal. I do think Garcia will re-sign with the Sox so he can stay with Guillen.
I wonder how this will affect the supposed trade of the Braves sending Ortiz to the Sox. Heard the Yankees are also interested.

Thanks for pointing out exactly what I said.
Very solid trade for Seattle. Whether it is for Chicago depends on Garcia resigning with them. But even if he does, the Sox gave up a bit much in this deal.
