Ben Curtis--former Kent State All-American, Walker Cup member, US Amateur semi-finalist, and PGA rookie, fired a 1-over in one of the later groups Thursday in his first ever British Open.
He just had his best finish--tied for 13th at the Western Open at -9. He was -9 the week before at the St. Jude (27th place) and has made $195,000 so far this year.
UPDATE: Another 72 Friday to move into a tie for 4th going into the weekend!
