Not only did he talk smack and then lose. He also had only 2 catches for a measley 8 yards. Yes he had a touchdown but he also dropped a quick 6 that I could have caught early in the game. The Giants would have won the game if it wasnt for a kickoff going out of bounds but it wouldnt have been nearly as close if Shockey had a decent game.

Watch out for Lavar next week big guy.
Oh please Terpy, I'm so sick of Shockey getting blamed for every loss the Giants have. It's a team effort when a team wins, and it's a team effort when a team loses. If you don't realize that, then not only have you never played football, let alone any sport, but you shouldn't be posting in the football forum. Sheer ignorance.

I'm not a huge fan of Shockey's either way, nor the Giants, but why Shockey gets blamed everytime they lose is absurd...plain and simple. Yes, he is part of the reason, as he is part of the team, but stop laying the blame on one person, Terp. Learn something about football will ya?

If you're bashing the guy for smack-talking, then fine. It is funny sometimes when a smartass player loses, but to say that it's his fault they lost is inane.

Obviously this is in jest. I just think its funny how the guy who everyone (including himself) thinks is the best thing since sliced bread is stinking up the place so far this season and im going to continue to let everyone know about it as long as he does. He is one of the most overrated players in the NFL and I am on a mission to let everyone know.
that is so ignorant. He might be underachieving a little bit, but in the Cowboys' game that was due to him needing to block instead of going out to recieve. I understand he dropped a couple of passes, but the terrible O-Line threw him out of his game. If pettigout comes back this week, shockey will play a lot better.

I can't believe anyone can diss shockey because of his smack talking. I hear more crap from other players than i do from Shockey. Eric Moulds spat on Surtain, Alomar spat on the Ump, other players diss shockey all of the time. Also, LaRussa disses Bonds. it never stops in sports, but people are always quick to blame shockey when he says anything.
I think Terpy was just joking.

wow, if he was, i didn't catch it. maybe i'm used to everyone ripping shockey.

Dude, every player in sports that's as well known as Shockey will get ripped a lot. It's just a part of sports we have to get used to. I do agree though that it's worse with Shockey than just about everyone else. But if you say something contreversial, then you WILL get ripped. Just ask John Rocker.
yea, i forgot about john rocker. The media took advantage of him, more than they are of shockey.
the overrated shockey had a great game on sunday.
Yep he did. One game does not make a great player however.

Yeah, but it is one week, hopefully, of Terpy-free Shockey bashing.
i understand that one game doesn't mean he's great (to you). if you recall, earlier i said that this game would be the true test because he wouldn't have to block as much. Without too much blocking he was on his game.

you guys have sure been quiet about shockey. What's a matter? Can't handle that shockey's been awesome in the last 2 games? IMO you're all eating your words.

his team still lost
i guess it's his fault that collins threw 3 int's. Now that shockey's been awesome you have to find a new way to diss him. So now, for some reason, every time the G-men lose it's his fault.
Jeremy Shockey has established himself as the best receiving tight end in the league in my mind. He has had two fantastic games while being double teamed a majority of the time.

BTW: If the Giants want any shot at the playoffs, they need a receiver to step up, whether its Toomer or Hilliard.
