For the longest time, dook has been our last regular-season football game of the year.

However, since they recently SUCK, some Carolina fans have suggested a possible change in that tradition.

Many think that NC State is a more natural rival now... while others think that the border battle with Virginia is the biggest game of the year.

This prompts the question: Who should be our last football game of the year? This could also be considered synonymous with "who is our biggest football rival?"

i dont mean to be a downer but i dont think that we have put up a great fight this past season in the regular season games vs duke(in basketball) but do you think duke wants to switch with maryland just because of that? i hope not! hey... if it aint broke, why fix it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

I guess one reason to change it is that I personally feel that State is our biggest rival in football now.

Remember that not so long ago, Carolina and State were bigger rivals in basketball than Carolina and dook.

I hate to say that our rivalry with dook in football has weakened -- but, they haven't beaten us since Spurrier was there. The games are turning into bigger and bigger blowouts, and dook doesn't look like they are getting any better. So, can anyone really say that they get up for the dook football game nowadays?

Our rivalry with State, on the other hand, has blossomed into an event that's suddenly talked about year-round. It just seems natural to me to move the dook game up one to second-to-last (where the State game currently is in basketball) and to make State the final football game of the year.
