negative again. He will be happy with a real team and a team that wins. the patriots are a unit, like a whole team of offensive lineman.
Why bring in a guy with baggage when you an draft a young player and develop him.

Another reason not to like the trade, Dillon is not a very good receiver, something that will have to change in the Patriots offense.

I cant remember the bengals ever running a screen for Dillon

why take a gamble on a running back, when you can have a sure back and get 2 players to add depth to the o-line.

Note: i don't recall dillon being considered "baggage" a few years ago, when he was kicking ******

If you didn't notice, the Bengals won last year and barely missed the playoffs, yet Dillon was bitching about HIS situation. He's a malcontent.

For a second-round pick, I still think he's worth the risk for the Pats, mostly because Belicheck has no qualms about cutting his ****** if he doesn't shut up and get to work. It remains to be seen if he'll do so, and I still expect the Pats to draft a young RB.
he wasn't happy, because he got frustrated from not playing. With the pats, he will definitely play.

He wasn't playing because he got injured and his backup was racking up big numbers and the Bengals began winning. He didn't like the idea of the success not being entirely due to his play.

the fact is, this is a guy who's used to playing and doing well. he got frustrated when he didn't play, and he ended up saying some things he shouldnt've. he should be happy now, playing with a super bowl team, and actually PLAYING.

He said things he souldn't have when he first got on with the bengals...Remember he would rather flip hamburgers at McDonald's rather than play for the Bengals

i really don't remember that. In fact i never remember him putting one toe out of line.

Then you're younger than I thought you were. He's been a pain in the ****** for at least the last 3 years. Originally it was losing, then it became not getting the ball enough because his team was successful without him.

It's not a bad gamble for the Pats. Belicheck has shown that he can handle a team's bruised psyche. I'm just glad I don't have to root for Dillon - he's shown himself to be nothing more than a malcontent and a cancer, and I'd rather a guy like that not be on my favorite team.

i meant years ago. I remember him being a headcase starting two years ago. When he was one of the top two backs in the game, he was fine. I think belichick will keep him focused, considering he's the best coach in the NFL.
Hey HuskieDan do you remember the whole McDonald's thing?
UCBearcats1125 Wrote:Hey HuskieDan do you remember the whole McDonald's thing?
Nope. But considering the bitching he has been doing while 1) being hurt, 2) being given the ball 25 times a game and rushing for a then NFL record single game rushing total, and 3) actually winning games in a Bengal uniform, nothing would surprise me.

Well for some reason that is the most memorible corey dillon moment for me...Not real sure why though

i never remember him whining when he was leading the league in rushing, but w/e. I would hardly say the bengals won. This was their first decent year in a long time, and they didn't even make the playoffs. I don't consider it winning if you can't get to the playoffs in this garbage league.
Quote:Coach Marvin Lewis says. "Ultimately, it's about winning games."
In most cases, I would take Dillon over a young RB in this draft, but not the Patriots because:

As I said earlier, Dillon is not a great receiver.

In the Patriots lineup he will not get a tremendous number of carries, and that is when the whines will start.

The Patriots have the time and the talent to develop a young RB and win at the same time.

He brings question marks with him, why bring him in when there is the slightest chance he will ruin chemistry?
I hate Corey Dillon, he's such a little bitch. I am defintely glad he is gone.
Why do they need more good people! Pats have already won the Super Bowl twice in three years! Give other teams a chance!

so far dillon's doing pretty well.
well, i guess i was right. good job doubters

he had the third most carries in the AFC, AND he sat out one game.
Trade worked out well for both teams. Dillon was a stud this year and the Bengals used the Pats 2nd rounder on safety Madieu Williams, who is going to be a perrinial pro bowler.
