I'm running Windows 2000 Pro on this old box of mine.
When I go to the start menu and click on shut down,
it will restart. I have to hit the power button to shut down.
If I am in safe mode, it will shut down like it is supposed to.
What's up with this?

That's a new one on me..

Perhaps a corrupt registry entry.
