Lack of program software. Like Photoshop and Dreamweaver...are these available for Linux? I have a lot of programs for Windows and Apple.
Btw....
Mandrake 10.1 or Fedora Core 3???
GIMP is something like photoshop for Linux...
<a href='http://www.gimp.org' target='_blank'>Gimp</a>
And another thing...
I have a computer I bough 3 years ago that has a burned out monitor and I haven't used it in 2 years, so I'm going to put either mandrake or fedora core on there. I just need a recommendation. :)
I use Mandrake, have one problem... I'd use it more if Broadcom provided support for my wireless nic. I've tried the NDISWrapper to no avail. Still working on it though every now and then. Maybe some day... I've actually considered buying a PC Card that has support for Linuc just to get around this!
Mandrake is more newb friendly... go with Mandrake. Fedora is for more seasoned users or users doing more unusual things, such as my MythTV setup.
Also.. name something you want to do, and I'll tell you the Linux equivalent.
Broadcom is the worst... WORSTTTTTTTT company making internet devices in terms of their Linux support.
Also, you can emulate Photoshop in Linux.
And DreamWeaver? Haha... on Linux try Nvu or KDevelop.
Thank you...I'll go with Mandrake
Getting a moniter this week. I'll let you know soon.
