My computer has slowed down considerably and I keep getting pop-ups when online.

I have S&D and run it regularly. I also search manually in the places in my computer that usually harbor stuff like this... But I'm out of ideas with this one.

When I open IE offline, my homepage is a place called "Search for..." . Pop-ups have a URL of dupx.cc... I can't find anything and can't change the homepage, regardless of what I do.

Some help for a fellow Mod?

1. Stop using IE

2. Go download Firefox

3. Ask GTS to help you set up Linux

4. Relax, knowing that you will now be virus free :D

Once Windows is infested, it's hard to clean it out without alot of collateral damage.

SpySweeper, ZoneAlarm, AVG Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware ... all must have applications for any Windoze user just so they won't be raped by viruses/malware.

I've seen Windows computers that use 100% resources just fighting off malware/viruses... it's crazy to watch.

can I uninstall IE without screwing something up in Windows?
