His lyrics are so undeniable real, I can paint a picture (in my mind) with his symbolism. I feel and understand what he's saying. He covered John Lennon's "Working Class Hero." John Lennon may have felt empathy for the working man, but he couldn't relate to them. Shannon Hoon could. Another fine cover is "the Pusher." Here we see Shannon juxtaposing Hoyt Axton's version. Instead of "*** **** the pusher (i.e. drug pusher), Hoon flips the script by saying "*** ****, *** **** that bible pushhhinn mannn!"
