Funny how when you scroll down the majority of the threads on pg1 here, quite a few of them are NTR.
Now, if you strike a nerve with the Grizz of Titans, some of the soup dispensers get upset. To which I say--GET A LIFE.
I can understand you smashing a NTR post on a gameday, or if their is something going on in Tiger land. But, you guys need to realize that one of the reasons this site is so hot, is that a lot of relationships have been formed here. It is kind of like a virtual hangout, where people come to talk about a lot of things. I love the Tigers, but if people just came here to talk about them, there would be really, really slow days. I think that Tiger posts should be the most prominent, and generate the most response. But, is it really needed to chirp like a baby chick every time someone makes a post other than that? Is it so bad to talk about the Grizz to your buds on this site? Or, the horrors, the Titans?
Some of you try your darndest to ruin this place, I swear.
I don't get upset, I just don't read them - I personally don't care for the Grizzlies or the Titans.

I'm generally apathetic when it comes to Pro Sports.
Pro Sports really don't matter until the playoffs.
The funny thing is how the level of play improves in the playoffs.
The spoiled rotten pro athletes don't give their all until it's the playoffs.
If that's the case, then they shouldn't get paid until the playoffs.
I don't begrudge Nashville because of the Titans. More power to them.
Doesn't mean I have to like Bud Adams though.

What TT said is 100% correct. The Titans treated our city like a stepchild, except they wanted a hand out every day. Titans threads have no business on any Memphis Tiger sports board. They were a bunch of rude beggers their time here.
Make an NTR forum for all the off subject posts and there will be no problem for those who don't want to read it....

Perhaps so, but they were still blood suckers the year they were "in" Memphis.
Don't the Titans and Grizzlies have their own messageboards? If people wanted to hear about that crap, wouldn't they check those sites out? I assume their fan bases suck so bad that a need is felt to try and win new fans from the Tiger faithful. Titans/Grizzlies posts on our forums strike me as litter.
I always read the NTR Dallas Cowboys posts. Those are by far the most interesting. Another really interesting one I like to real is anything about Bobby Knight and whether you like him or not. Like when he slapped at first, and then really didn't slap the player last month. lmfao
I have been guilty of posting NTR posts before on the main board......but that said, there is an entire forum where everyone can discuss with their buddies whatever they want.....ad nauseum! Stevie has made it as simple as can be by putting a tab to go directly there at the top of the board. It is not really that difficult.

egrizzard, you may be a Titans fan, and that's your prerogative. I tend to view this board as more of a portal for all things Memphis and not just a Tigers board. The Grizzlies are Memphis. However, the Titans are not only NOT Memphis, but they're an affront to self-respecting Memphians. As such, Titans posts don't belong here.

I agree w/ TigerTwice. I couldn't give two hoots in a holler for the Titans. They used Memphis, and our sporting fans for all they could. (Actually, I've never gotten over the antitrust judgement thingy, and don't really care for the NFL anymore, apart from Deangelo or Gotti; Haven't liked MLB baseball since the first strike; and don't really care about the Grizz or the NBA too much, unless a team has grabbed a Tiger or two)

Yeah, that's probably the worst insult of them all. We'd have supported the hell out of OUR NFL team. They simply underestimated the hatred between Memphis & Nashville and overestimated our desire to temporarily host our ugly sister's team.

My point has been lost here, and it is a shame. Guess I didn't do a good enough job of explaining it. I realize there are other web sites for people to go to to talk about what ever they want. I check this board daily to keep up with Memphis aths, and Memphis news I may have missed. Alot of people that are Tiger fans come here for the same reason, and feel like they have formed relationships with people on the boards. If they are excited about the Titans, or the Grizzlies, they may share their thoughts with others. You guys say they should go away--maybe so. I just , and I see I was incorrect, like that this is a pretty open forum where a lot of people mingle and discuss many things.

Here's an idea. Let's get four or five vol ... 'guys who are willing' to go over to the Grizzlies board and start posting about Tiger athletics. It will always be the same four or five guys starting threads about the Tigers. If anyone over there questions our Tiger postings - we'll get in a huff. Say stuff like 'we're all one big community' and 'can't we all just get along.' I mean it -- lets get a bunch of Tiger fans over there and begin posting Tiger stuff for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. Who knows, I could be wrong --- they might actually appreciate the attention since their board is so slow.
Just post it on the NTR forum and no one has a valid reason to complain.
But understand that some will still debate what is written.

edit: uh, never mind. knock yourself out. I think they'll be much more receptive and non-territorial/provincial about the Tigers than people here are. As long as they're similar toned posts (none of the Grizz posts that I can remember here have ever been derogatory or combative toward the Tigers with the tone of trying to exclude or evict the other team from the cosmopolitan city they both share). I know I support mutual boosterism, support, and promotion.
