Tonight's loss to ut has a clear explanation. Mid-majors can not compete against big programs year in and year out. It is really a joke that fans can not simply accept the mid-major status of our program. Compare the athletic budgets of ut and UM if that is fair to do. I mean it is unbelievable how much more money ut and other schools like texas, alabama and kentucky spend on athletics compared to us. People say that we have good basketball tradition and that is what makes us a big time program. Zero national titles and two final fours is pretty average to me and most people around the counrty would agree with me. ut leads the all time series and it has to do with the fact that they pour alot more money into their programs than we do. I think our expectations should be a little bit lower b/c of this.

I think you ought to move to knoxville and be a fan of those orange pricks. You might not mind being labeled mid-major but I sure as hell think it sucks. Hell, we lose a basketball game and you tuck your head between your legs and think the reason that we lost is because we're mid major???? Do yourself a favor and go be a fan of a major program. The Tigers don't need fans like you.......F-Ut and all that is associated with that piece of s$it school.

You are a complete dumb***. There is nothing average or midmajor about the current state or the history of the University of Memphis men's basketball program.
Despite all of their money and "major" status for the last 70 years, UTK has done pratically nothing in the Big Dance, winning just 9 NCAA Tournament games in the 66 year history of the event, while Memphis has won 22 games. UTK has never been to the Championship Game, they have never made it to the Final Four, they have never even made an Elite 8. They have only made the Sweet 16 twice. Their NCAA Tournament history has more in common with Ole Miss' than with the Tigers'.
As for the fact that they lead the all-time series with Memphis 11-7, this is because 10 games between the two schools were decided by 5 or fewer points and UTK happened to win the majority of those games, many of which were played during down periods for the Tiger program (the late 80's and late 90's).
Did you forget about our number one seed last year? Our Elite Eight appearance? One loss doesnt mean sh*t, and we dont need any bandwagon fans like you telling us we cant compete. Grab you a Greyhound ticket to Knoxville and go cheer on eww tea ya HillBilly
