This is class personified!!! Where can I get one?
Ooooo, it has black, GA is going to rip you a new one.
btiger Wrote:This is class personified!!! Where can I get one?
I agree, that is actually not bad.
If you just got rid of the black, and replaced that god-awful tiger head with a standard "M" or the REAL logo it would almost be bearable. Oh yeah, get rid of the busy writing all over the place. A simple Memphis on the side or back would do. Thats all.

As I said, it's classy.......I wouldn't expect you to like it.

Ping! Now that was a zinger......
wow, only 5 posts in, this time. is that a new record?
I like the hat, i like the logo, i like the writing, i don't like the black. keep the blue going, do black on underside.

This will be the REAL logo. Times change and the university recognizes the need to stay current. Fortunately we have one of our own alumni with the wherewithall to develop a modern logo.
b, all I can say is
WHATEVER DUDE.
I would sincerely like to fully support Bossman, but I know he would want my honest opinion. Unfortunately, the cap sucks wind for the following reasons:
(1) There is no gray - it would be much better to use the school colors
(2) The blue is too light. The correct (and official shade of blue is REFLEX blue
(3) The tiger head logo is weak because it is merely a tiger head. "Tigers" is the most common nickname in American sports (for the good reason that it is the best). Unfortunately, a plain tiger head could stand for any of hundreds of colleges, community colleges and high schools. Seen on a cap which does not even bear the correct school colors makes it even worse.
Nothing personal, Bossman, and I wish you good luck in your future endeavors. Please don't market that piece of crap, though.

C'mon b, you're gettin' slow.....responding to my same post twice after having thought of something else witty to add? I have come to expect better.
I also think we are fortunate to have Billy Blaze as one of our alums. You just can't have too many idea-men/t-shirt makers in your corner.
So they trademarked the cut off head from the original leaping Tiger? They did so to limit it's use, not to replace anything.
That being said, it is Fugly.
Probably can't be found in a store anyway. He will send them all to Iraq.
Hat looks okay, does need more tweaking. I don't like the Tiger head. it's too generic. At least our logo has been around long enough that some outsiders know it is our UofM.
I wouldn't recommend using the word "battle." It might offend some in here. I've already been called out for using the word "napalm" when describing a housecleaning and banning.
Wouldn't buy one. Words on bill looks out of place. Simplicity would work better.
Come on - you have to change, grow or die.
Embrace the future!

This is a serious question:
Do you really like the fact that we have had 6000 versions of footbasll uni's and helmets over the yrs?
Tradition can be good for growth as well. Change? Yes, in attitude and fan support. Growth? Yes, in fan support. Die? Maybe so, if you keep changing things just for the sake of changing them.
If it ain't broke........

Things were broke. We changed a few things and have had more success. You may be satisfied. Some of us want to continue to grow.

I agree with Chi-Town. I do want to grow and progress, I just don't understand how constantly changing a logo contributes to growth.
I'll take two. Oh, and make children's sizes too. Take the "The" off the brim. No biggie, just a suggestion.
And as for change, their are valid points to each of the opposing views. However, go to a hat store in any major mall and you will find all sorts of styles, colors, and logos for virtually all teams (collegiate or pro).

Can we fit a picture of the Blue Bird on there somewhere?
Will there be a fitted version?

Somebody was banned?
Bossman, I appreciate your efforts, but the hat is weak. I like the colors but the Tiger head is goofy. jmo... Make us a ferocious Tiger!

Maybe a jungle theme camo pattern in blue, black and grey. Make the eyes stand out.
Awesome point!!! The jumping tiger through the M logo rules!!!
People know it!!! Don't F it up man!!!

Don't get me wrong - I love the M tiger logo.
What we want to do is add to our brand not take anything away. Most University's have three or four alternate logos they sell. The M logo should be number 1 but you have to branch out.
The second you say if it ain't broke don't fix it - is the second you fall behind. Then later you say you never saw the change coming.
Lets be proactive and stop being reactive.
I think the Tiger head looks like a cartoon tiger head. I also don't like the black color for the bill. Our tiger head needs to look meaner rather than like a cartoon.

I'm sorry but this is nothing but a re-hash colored version of an old logo used back in the 70's. I think the Tiger jumping thru the M is one of if not the most recognizable logo's in college sports. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I won't be wasting my money on one of those.

I know I'm not in a business that markets trade-marked items and I don't understand all the trade lingo like you, so maybe you can help me out here. Is "Trade Marked" anything like "trade-marked" or "trademarked"? Maybe one day I'll be able to work in "big business" and understand all the terms. Meanwhile I'll just have to ask for morsels of info from an expert like BOSSMAN.
As a consumer, I do know that the hat is ugly.

I like this one better BossMan...I'm serious about the blue, black and grey camo pattern...something like the Tiger on Derbys avatar...
Consumer....... lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao
The customer is always right....
BOSSMAN Wrote:Consumer....... lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao
From dictionary.com:
"One that consumes, especially one that acquires goods or services for direct use or ownership rather than for resale or use in production and manufacturing."
Maybe "potential consumer" of Blue Planet is a better description of me.......I'm always open minded.
