Who is going down this weekend for the event? I haven't been to Music Fest in probably 10 years, but I'm going to drive down late Saturday night just to see Huey Lewis and the News!!! I've been wanting to see them perform in person again since I was on the second row at the Coliseum back in the 80s. They come on stage at 10:40; I hope to be in town by then!!!

I know, I know, but I'm an 80s dude and really liked them back then!!! Only because I'm Hip to Be Square!!!!
That is a young persons concert. I'm too old for all this stuff. Huey Lewis and the News was the first concert I ever went to as a kid. I think it was the Sports tour.

Exactly why I'm going to see the older guys perform. I'm hoping the "kids" will be watching Cake during that time!!!

Have a good time and drink a few for me.
I'll be there all 3 days. I haven't missed a single Music Fest since '92. But you definitely want to get there earlier and get your money's worth. Might as well see as many bands as you can for the price of one ticket.

Yeah, I'd love to get there earlier to see Bruce Hornsby, The Romantic and the Bar-Kays, but another engagement will keep me away until some time shortly before Huey takes the stage!!!
This will be only the second musicfest in about 15 years that i haven't gone to, but i just really could care less about the lineup this year (plus, my husband's FINALLY graduating from the university tomorrow, so his party is tomorrow night).

this was a great take on it from someone's blog in town...#10 is my personal favorite:

Top 10 Reasons to Skip Music Fest

1. You are not a stoner.
2. You are not in high school.
3. You are not a thug.
4. You are not white trash and/or have a mullet.
5. You don't like to pay $7 for a lukewarm Miller Lite.
6. It will rain because it always rains.
7. It will be too hot.
8. Your friend will puke before you get out of the parking garage because he/she is such an amateur.
9. The porta-potties (no explanation needed).
10. You need to save your energy for BBQ Fest!
I want a new drug....

...one that won't hurt my head.
Well the 80s had Huey and the 90s had Hootie. I think the 80s got the better end of the deal on those two.

amen to that.

See, now you're cheating. You're talking about the 90s Hootie, but you show a 2005 picture. Hootie was much better before Darius Rucker signed the Burger King deal (although that big buckin' chicken song does crack me up).
I'm taking my DeLorean and dressing up as Marty McFly. Anyone want to come as the Doc?

Tender Crisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch.

I still can't get that song out of my head.

only if after musicfest, that car will fly back in time to get me back home to clean the house for graduation festivities & still make it to las margaritas by 8.
