That goes for the rest of the MODs here. I rarely go to other teams boards unless provoked. I went to UABs and responded to a couple of jackasses and I have now gotten 3 Pms from their MOD threatening to ban me from all sites. I did not curse or anything. When I think about the crap some other fans get away with on our board I am amazed.
You came over starting trouble. Keep it real and tell the truth dude.

We got a smack thread but you chose not to use it. You're wrong.

Ooopss my bad. I didn't recognize your sig. You can't keep it real.

Oh good. Now they are here.
YOUR OK IN MY BOOK, BUT ITS BARELY THREE PAGES
i notice that uab fans can spread all the crap they want on their main board, but when someone answers, they are jumped on about using the smack board. that cuts both ways in my book
who cares we sat them out with the trash last night. let em sit and dream
up every way they could have won that game.

Take it to the smack board, chump. Although, I dunno why a UAB fan would think they could come to our board and talk smack 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle
OK. Did the UAB MOD just delete my post here or was that one of our MODs? That is crap.
UAB was just another notch on the MEMPHIS six shooter. Another link in the chain that leads to the NCAA tournament and a possible # 1 seed.

UAB has a good little team, and should make the NCAA tourney as well.

But MEMPHIS has bigger fish to fry, so don't worry about the Blazers until the rematch March 2. Let their fans scrutinize and argue and play the "what if...?' game.

The TIGERS just need to keep taking care of business.

Well I just got another PM with my second warning. It said that I could not post a PM and that is a violation? WTF?

I'll second that. I tried to respond and couldn't before it was deleted. If this was the UAB mod deleting the post, that's over the top.

Hey mod, get some thicker skin, and grow up. If you can't handle your team losing then you don't need to be a mod.

I agree , that UAb Moderators should have no control on our board.

Is it really a violation to post what someone PMed you? I told him to stop sending them to me if he did not want them posted. I think if you type it you better be able to live with it right?

The Internet doesn't really count as private. Just b/c he messaged it doesn't mean that FUT wanted it to be private. Once he sends it, it's FUT's to do with as he pleases. Perhaps just some bitter mods?

Out of curiousity, does this apply to emails, too? If someone emails me something that is not marked "personal and confidential", but it is probably intended to be a private message to me alone, can I post it if I want to?

I'm not arguing...your response made me think of something happening with me. Thanks
Everyone else knows where it is. If you really want to go there it's 3 clicks away. Stay a while once you get there.
Let me weigh in a little here.

I missed whatever was said on the UAB board that started all of this . However, it "IS" a violation of the AUP to post a Private Message conversation between a Mod and the poster it is sent to.

Beyond that, if y'all wanna talk smack with the UAB posters, do it on their smack board. Maybe they are more thin skinned than we are here, so if you are gonna visit their boards, play by their rules.

Last...they have mod priveleges here, as we do on their boards. This is usually not needed or required, but Attalla said no one was around when this all happened, and normally he would have asked one of us to take care of it. Again, I missed it all as it has been deleted before I ever logged on, but how about we all just kiss and make up and drop it here?Just don't post PM's, and smack them on their "SMACK" board.
Quote:However, it "IS" a violation of the AUP to post a Private Message conversation between a Mod and the poster it is sent to.

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see that in the AUP.

I see:
Quote:- Questions about edited or deleted posts should be voiced in private to the mod/admin that did it. If you don't know who... e-mail support(at)ncaabbs(dot)com

Which says "should" and not "must." A bit vague, really....but says nothing about FUT wanting to share the coversation.

But if we hand any back....

I just read through the FAQ here and I see nothing about it being a violation to post PMs from a Mod. Maybe I missed it however. I'd be curious to know what the basis for that rule is. Why should a mod be given speciual protection for something they say. Shouldn't everyone be held accountable with nobody being given a free pass to say whatever they please in a PM without fear of being exposed as a moron?
What is the point of a PM then? It is a private message that is to be exchanged between two people. If anyone can post a pm on the board, then why even have PMs?

Common sense is great, but you said it was a violation of the AUP. That's a pretty big jump.

So while possibly bad manners, I don't see how what FUT did was wrong.

"Exchanged between two people" So in theory when one party sends a PM to someone else, the person who gets the PM is bound to silence based on what? They did not ask for the PM in the first place, why should they be bound to silence if someone makes idiotic/offensive/lewd statements to them? I dunno, JMO. I'm still trying to find the section that says you can't post a mod's PM.

Will..What part of "private" do you not comprende?

By posting a PM from a Mod, it is considered "calling him out" basically. It is not allowed. Just as the mod attempted not to "call out" FUT on the main board, and tried using "common sense" by sending him a "private message" to handle this now very public problem.

Well, for one, it takes two to keep a secret. My point is that you said it was against the AUP, and I can find that rule no where. I have seen no rules about the PM feature. That's all I'm saying. Well, it's not all, but those are some of my own issues about how some things are handled which aren't that big of a deal, so I keep them to myself.

Will,

Do you think emails apply to this same philosophy? Just curious.

I went ahead and deleted the email that I didn't read because I knew it would only tick me off and I'm not in the mood to be lectured by somebody sticking their nose into my business.

Sorry, I strayed from the subject but if I were to get another such email and I wanted to call them out publicly, is it okay since I didn't ask for the email to be sent?

Personally, I don't feel there is anything wrong with yet. Again, it is in poor taste, and apt to cause more problems, but it surely isn't confidential.

I feel it would be up to the individual to decide if they wanted to make what they received public or not.

Just my thoughts.

Kitten,
Once a letter or e-mail is sent, the sender gives the reciever possession of the letter. The reciever can do whatever he or she wants to, for example give it to the police to read if there is incriminating information in the letter. The e-mail is now your "property" and you can do with it what you want.
Free FUT
I aksed the guy several times to stop sending me PMs and just ban me if he needed to. He then lectured me about how he was a MOD and could PM me anytime he wanted. My feeling is I did not ask him to PM me and I went so far as to ask him NOT to PM me so all bets are off.

Quote:DO NOT post Private messages. This is a direct violation and your second warning. I will ban you if you don't stop.

I have no idea what the words above are. They are not a PM from anyone I swear.
One more thing.

they deleted several of my posts on the smack board as well. F em'
