And WHY is this? Because I'm not there anymore.
My takes and rapier wit- such a stark contrast to the propaganda found elsewhere in this market- has a following, an audience, and you can't get enough of it, even if you don't want to admit it!
Let's see here- who was it that so riled up the Appalachian State fans in 2002 people were writing into the Johnson City Press?

When David Mullins was hired as the AD, who was it that said he was the guy you would hire to get rid of football when others spoke about what a "Cool tennis teacher he was!"

Who was it that got the sports editor of the Bristol Herald-Courier to come on and post here? Who was it that got COACHES to post here?

The interesting thing here is that so many of the media types come on here for info.
Mullins and ETSU runs scared from me. They can spread lies about me in order to run away from me and revert to unethical behavior to keep me away, but in the end, it just shows how afraid they are of me BECAUSE I HAVE UNCOVERED IT ALL!
See this modest forum I have has become the most influential and cutting edge source for ETSU news anywhere.

Nothing at all to do with the fact that the guy who started soconhoops (uncghoops) is now in prison and the guy who took over decided to move the site and messageboard somewhere with alot less popups and spyware. Check the links, NONE of the forums work there including the UNC-G, it is a dead site, it has been moved.

You wanted to take credit for the old board no longer being there, I just showed you that it had moved, not died. People were posting here long before you came and we kept posting during your 2 week time out and if you left tomorrow people would continue to post without missing a beat.
Why don't you go to the new board and show us, start posting exclusively on it and see what traffic you generate. You just hang around and see where the crowd is going, follow and then claim credit for everybody being there.

When I left the old board it started receiving 25% of the posts it had when I was there.
The first post on this board is dated April 5, 2005 by our esteemed moderator.
My first post was dated Dec. 4, 2005.
It was the 148th post on this board at that time.
Eight months. Before I came on here, this board got 18 posts- A MONTH!
That's the simple math.
The last post made on the Greensboro board(s) was dated Feb. 7. The last posts there were made by thedoctor- AKA "Bunny"- who had done nothing but repost Johnson City Press articles on the site.
There's only one person- and ONE PERSON ONLY- who knows how to get people talking ETSU.
It is not you. It is not Andy Large. It is not Bill Meade. It is not the two students who hosted the post game show and invited calls and got about 10 for the season.
The math unequivocally says I am the one who gets the discussion started, who keeps it going, and who you- YES
YOU ROD- turn to for cutting edge ETSU opinion and news.
When you consider the influence I have had and the way David Mullins runs scared of me- there is no question who is The Master!
It is only a matter of time, Mr. Shaw, until you burn your bible and worship ME!
The rest of the community already has!

Like I said, prove it, go to the other board where nobody has yet to post and start it up. Get people posting there and not here. Prove it, you have come to boards that were already around and then claimed it was your influence that they started growing. It wasn't you it just the natural cycle of things the board was new and it took time for traffic to build up which it did not because of all your posts but in spite of them. Go to the new board make it your image and see how successful you are.

In fact, I did some research and found out that before I came on here- this lively board that you were developing and everyone was coming to had a grand total of SEVEN Rod Shaw posts.
In eight months.
So not even you are practicing what you are trying to preach.
I've done it three times. When I left Sports Talk in a dispute over editorial and pay, I knew my departure would kill the magazine- AND IT DID!

When I left over pay and editorial issues I knew it was only a matter of time the paper went under.
And you know, a funny thing. All those NCAA Tournament brackets and Sports Talk Girl of the Week and David Mullins boosting- well- nobody bought it.
In less than a year it was sold- only to be folded a short time later.
Coulda told 'em that was on the way!
WEMB- and for a change VolLover was right- I was fired there (only to soon find a higher paying sportscasting job locally and then dream jobs in Pittsburgh on the Pitt network and then WTAE).
And you know- they couldn't make sports talk work after I left.
Oh they tried- but the daily show became weekly and the weekly show dried up.
Evidently- Doug Fritz talking about the menu at Ruby Tuesday was not captivating enough for a market that is usually entertained by watching cars rust.
So now, the sports talk show guy they had on there- and I have nothing against him at all- is not a sports talk show host anymore.
He's a gospel DJ.
I know I'm good. I demand you kiss my ring.

And when you don't- total ruin!
So how did Tim get in prison?
