We could be going to the ACC tomorrow and people still wouldn't be happy.

No, complacency is the problem. Complaining about the current situation shows that people actually give a damn.

We've not spoken up when they've dropped football or whatever.

You speak of this program being on the upswing. HOW?

To paraphrase Paul Stanley, the critical fans of ETSU are asking for apples because they are handing out peas.

Football's return, new facilities, better conferences- all of it to date are empty promises from the people who put us in this situation in the first place.

To say "People wouldn't be happy if ETSU was in the ACC" because we realize this ETSU team would be very hard pressed to compete in the Southern Conference is ludicrous!!!!!

How do we know? the only Southern Conference team we played, we beat. The RPI doesn't tell us anything more than what the BCS formula does in football.
Again, another great thing about THIS SEASON, we don't have to beat App State and Davidson, just have to win our conference.
We'll worry about them in 2010.

That' last sentence is cockeyed optimism.

I'm going to now say that the SEC is better than the NFL.

After all, how do you know? IT HAS TO BE SETTLED ON THE FIELD/COURT/ETC.

That last sentence is having talked to alot more current students than you have in the 24 hours. There is an OVERWHELMING majority of students that are going to vote yes in April.
Now, since the RPI is so great, you must now admit that ETSU is better than Penn State, Wake Forest, the University of Miami, Arizona State, GEORGE MASON, Fresno State and Utah. After all, our RPI is higher than all of these teams mentioned, so we must be better than them.
The difference in your statement and mine is simple, you're trying to compare the college and the pro game, I'm just going up against colleges.
We don't know who is better, all we can do is speculate.

I would imagine your own circle of friends would vote for the increase.

And I'm very happy not to go by RPI. What do the Red Hawks know about basketball, anyway?

Let's go instead by out-of-conference wins.

You almost sound like a West Virginia fan who wants to say the Big East is better than the SEC in football.

But at least the Mountaineers DID beat Georgia last year, so I guess by your logic that might be true.

Actually they were complete strangers last night that I talked to with the exception of one, who I would at best consider an acquaintance... Try again.
