Woot DeChellis beat a team with an RPI ranking of 306th. That will look damn good to the NCAA selection commitee come March.

What this whole thread was was calling out VolLover for his statement that he wouldn't be surprised if VMI beat Penn State.

I realized the absurdity of the statement- just as you're desperately trying to allude to here.

So I called him out on it.

He lost. I won.

However, interestingly enough, there is a contingency of ETSU fans who believe that we should hire this coach with the 308 ranking.

It was led by a poster who started a thread entitled- oh, help me out, I think I remember it though . . .

No, it was not tounge-in-cheek.

When every second post on here was trying to get rid of Murry Bartow and you recommend VMI's coach, which leads to VolLover stating he thinks the Running Roos will beat the Nits (where do they get these nicknames, anyway?), then it is NOT tounge in cheek.

You're spinning as much as VolLover now.

The fact I said, hey we might not play defense but at least we will score.. Thats all I said about him and VMI. IF you want to take that as some ringing endorsement of the man, who name I honestly don't even know, as you can see I said VMI coach,, Not coach John Smith... I didn't know his name then or now, I am sure I have seen it but I didn't care enough for it register.

What I want to know is- is Andy paying you to try and take the subject of his cowardly actions off topic?

Now, Pitt. Andy, er lover, did offer to take the bet if you gave him 15 points. You might remember, I reminded you that he simply misspoke when he said he wouldn't be surprised if VMI won. He meant he wouldn't be surprised if they kept it within 15. Oops, they didn't quite make it, did they?

By the way, I think it's time we quit comparing ETSU with our brethren who are making waves in the Southern with big wins. Yes, Davidson, Appy and others have had some big wins in the past few weeks. But comparing ETSU to those guys is like comparing the WAC to the SEC. It's a totally different level. Just as the Southern is a step behind the ACC,SEC, etc., the ASun is a level below the Southern.

You'll also remember VolLover wanted me to admit to a bunch of preposterous falsehoods.

If it was 15 straight- I probably would have taken it.

He was running scared after I called him out for one of his typical comments where he talks as if he knows a lot but in reality knows very little.

Air Force's coaching job, the politics at the top of the ETSU food chain, Ed DeChellis, etc.- he's clueless in all of them.

I brought that out.

I have a hunch this 77 guy is actually a friend of his he's gotten to post.

By the way, I know the analogy you're trying to make- but I would say the A-Sun is farther away from the SoCon than the WAC is from the SEC.

It's a coin toss. Most WAC teams would lose to most SEC teams, but some of their teams would win games against SEC opponents.

I think it's about the same between the ASun and Southern. Most S.C. teams would beat most ASun teams handily. But Belmont, ETSU and Lipscomb could beat the bottom 3 or 4 teams in the Southern (Chattanooga, Wofford and Citadel are at the bottom of the S.C. today) every now and then.

If I remember correctly, using last week's Sagarins, the top team in the ASun would be No. 4 in the Southern right now.

Real quick question, when I made the post We should hire VMI's coach since we don't play defense anyway we might as well score.. (or something like that) did you take me seriously or did you think I was just joking a little and posting what I thought was an interesting story about that high scoring game.

And the amount of posts the topic got- people took you seriously.
