The subject was college football. She said that as a student at KY they went to games specifically to see the teams coming to play the Wildcats. She also said they don't pay attention during the games -- it's just for fun.

She then said, being a Cincy native, that there's no such thing as a Cincinnati Bearcat football fan in Cincy. It's high school football and NFL, but nothing else.

She said the most exciting game she can remember in a long time was the Memphis-Louisville game a couple of weeks ago. She went to the game as a fan rather than as a sports reporter and she had a blast.

This is kinda the same as how I don't pay to attention to what she's saying, I just like looking at her from the shoulders down -- just for fun.
Well her remarks about cincy football sound right on the mark. They really have no football fanbase. It's just something their fans do until their basketball players and coaches are let out of their jail cells to begin practice.
Had we gotten a NFL team in the 60s or 70s the Tigers would be in the same boat... And that's not factoring the $EC.

Thats a bit graffic, how is it that some get persecuted for this type comment yet others get a pass? Is it some kind of popularity thing?

I have absolutely no problem with the comment, I am just wondering out loud why the board gangs up on certain people and not others.
You will probably need a machete to clear the jungle if you know what I mean, lol. Ask Sky to post some of his favorite hirsute pics. I have an ill feeling he has an entire gallery of it. lol

Well an easy difference is one said he wished she would bend over but not look back. No vulgarity there. The other evidently posted some near underage nude girls with one doing something quite gross.

I'll concede that there is a big difference in the most recent example but I have seen people get jumped on for comments much more tame than the wanting to bend her over comment. Usualy it is one poster riled up because her kids read the board then a few others pile on. I guess she just has not made it to this thread yet.

Well I don't have any kids so that was not my issue with the other. I, myself, did not want to see what was on my screen. Also, since I am at work, I did not appreciate that appearing on my screen without my consent.

Most of the pictures here are fine. It is easier to scroll past the written comments than the pictures that appeared. No one is really looking at your screen at the written words. It is hard to hide those pictures.

Make your comments but just keep in mind that some under age do post here. And that some parents would like to be able to monitor their kids computer. And they probably view this as a sports board.

But to each their own, I have made my own comments before but they are probably very tame compared to some comments made here.

Like I sort of said in another thread. Most of this stuff does not offend me. But those pictures did.
I agree, they were over the line, especially the one of the middle school cheerleader. There is no need for that type of stuff on a sports messageboard.

Exactly, Some people just have no sense of decency.
If any underage kid reads this thread and snickers he already knows the jokes. I could repeat the machete comment to my 7 year old and all he would do is ask, "What is a machete?" lol
Pics are an entirely different matter. What I have been told was posted earlier borders on receiving an instant ban. JMO
not even going into appropriate - those type of pictures on a screen at work WILL get you fired in a lot of places. not a nice suprise at all.

this is a tiger sports board. keep the honeys and politics on the boards where they belong
I don't mean to cause a fuss, or ruin a good time, but I am noticing some things.

Some of the comments here are the equivalent of the bullying namecalling and harrassment you get at a high school, in terms of talking about Ms. Pachmayer in such derogatory fashion. There is something of a pack mentality too. I don't care how much hair she has on her face, her brow, her back or elsewhere. I realize the comments we make reflect on ourselves, but, I haven't heard anything about this lady's behavior or actions to tell me she is bad, arrogant, a poor reporter, or a b!tchy person. I am unfortunately pretty superficial myself, and do see women from an attraction standpoint too; I guess when I see an unattractive person, I have tried to become the type of person not to gawk, mock, harrass, and ridicule such a person, although when I see an attractive person, I will compliment them. I think the difference is refraining your comments to focus on the positive in people, not to highlight and re-emphasize the negative about others. I love hot women, but I don't ridicule or mock those I find unattractive either.

Or maybe it's just humorous to ridicule. I guess sometimes it is. I know I may not be very consistent myself, but I try to improve every day. Hopefully I won't become the type of person to escalate these kinds of comments. But, hey, y'all are free to comment on whatever you'd like; it's not even remotely obscene I know, but just derogatory, and I just thought I'd respond with a different angle. Maybe it's a normal standard of decency, and I'm not normal. But, Memphis raised me this way.

If it sounds preachy, sorry. I don't like preachiness either, so I'll work on that.

Tara Pachmayer is pretty in a Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman kinda way...

You know the chick you would have completely overlook if you went to high school with her, but since she got a little fame, you finally realize how nice she looks.

Tara has a nice figure, pretty smile (even if its goofy looking), and she's into sports. She also seems like she isn't full of herself like alot of chicks would be if they had dude fawning over her.

And then she used to swim and do gymnastics... Gymnastics! 04-bow

This hairy thing... You want to see hairy, check out R&B singer Ashanti... Now that's a wilderbeast...

If I ever see Tara Pachmayer on Beale St. a little tippy again, Latty is gonna have to lay the mack down....

Did I mention she was once a gymnist?
She's a "butter face"........everything looks good butter face!

Just kidding, I actually don't find her that unattractive. She's not the classic beauty but she is not as bad as you guys are making her out to be.

When you earn your living by being a personality on TV you pretty much are fair game. I don't think she got the job because of her incredible play at LB in college. If Lapedis' ugly sweaters and round frame are open targets I definitely have no problem making jokes about mono brow.
As far as the comment on the NFL effecting college football game attendance, I guess research might determine that but the U of Miami is averaging almost 63,000 fans and I do not think USC or UCLA have been hurt by the NFL either and there have been two NFL teams in LA at times. I guess a search of the colleges competing with the Seattle Seahawks and Phoenix Cardinals might also be similar with little or no effect on college attendance due to an NFL team and these are just off the cuff comments.

Miami must have gotten a huge boost in attendance with joining the ACC because I remember seeing empty seats in the Orange Bowl for many of their non FSU/Florida games on TV.

1) The programs have been solidly good for decades... If the Tigers were what they have been for 40 years and we had a NFL team, we'd be fortunate if the team was still 1-A... Compare that with the basketball team that is a great program with a tradition of winning, and it will compete with the Grizz for the next thirty years...

2) The markets you mentioned are all 2 and 3 times or more bigger than Memphis with very strong alumni networks. USC? How can you compare them with us?

Watch Vanderbilt in 15 years even with them in the $EC competing with the Titans.
Hairy girls need love, too.

More then likely they are losers but since we haven't seen them, we don't know.
This board use to be full of well behaved Tiger fans.

Just couldn't help myself, and I won't bring it up again.

The cliquish nature of this board is annoying at times, but it is far and away the best place to get info on the Tigers.

It's weird how it works, only a comparative handfull of fans on the board, but we know most everything that happens before it hits the tv or the radio.
Just one more thing, I guess I have been quilty of making fun of Lapedis some and I admit it but he has irked several folks off, me included, by being rude to our faces.
Tara, on the other hand has done nothing that I have ever heard off to deserve such treatment.
I stand by my stance that you who have done so, should be sorry, or are sorry. I am pretty sure its one of those! lol

I could have found a better way of expressing what I was trying to say in that thread, I honestly did not intend for what I said to be insulting but I realize it came out that way. I tried to explain but by then the damage was done and people were starting to pile on. That was the last time I went to the political board. On that board we are democrats and republicans, conservatives and liberals; on this board we are just Tiger fans.

I'd be interested in seeing her do a story that's not all about her.

I don't care if she can kick a field or shoot a free throw. It's not original...it's all been done before. The last time I saw one of those kinds of stories even being close to interesting was when Jarvis Greer made a serious tryout for the Memphis Showboats.

No offense meant, but I know what I like and don't like to see.

Just some constructive criticism, which is good stuff my friend.
Natalie Portman!?!?! You would've overlooked Natalie Portman in High School? Where did you go to school!?!
Yeah Natalie Portman would have been igged in high school, because she would have been nerdy type...
For the record, I think Tara is cute. Natalie too. 04-bow
You know, all this talk about Tara's looks and facial hair seems pretty ironic considering what the men look like on other news networks that report on sports. Sorry, but Mike Ceide and Glen Carver leave much to be desired. The only issue I have with Tara is I always noticed at Tiger's games at the Pyramid, she never paid attention to the game. She was to busy talking to the person beside her. You know, we don't know what a lot of you guys look like either in person.
Tara is a nice lookin' lady. Nice body, dark eyes and hair. Her smile looks a little hungry, like a shark. And her hands are quite large; she looks like she could palm a watermelon with those talons!

You dudes dogging her out need to get a life and perhaps a mirror.

Tara, if you lurk over here, ignore the a$$holes and keep on smiling, honey!!

Now, TigerTam, I don't check out the male sportscasters. But some of them do look like the keynote speaker at a nerd convention. Carver could comb his hair with an eyebrow liner!!

Just because her eyebrows are hairier than the others' heads combined, there's no need to rag on the guys.

Mike and Glenn's sports are good stuff, my friend.
