We write about tons of good stuff; Remember Calipari U? But frankly, there
hasn't been a lot of good going on lately. And though I hate doing it, we
have to cover the Sean Banks stuff and the Jeremy Hunt stuff like it's a
huge story because it is a huge story.
The best way to ensure we don't write about domestic violence and academic
struggles and fights in the locker rooms and furs stolen from players'
apartments that belong to strippers is to not have any of those things
happen. But to be mad at the messenger seems like a silly approach.
Seriously, I wish none of this stuff existed. I'm tired. I haven't slept
more than five hours in a night in two weeks. I got home from Tampa
yesterday, saw my wife and son for five minutes and then spent the rest of
the day and night talking to Tamika Rogers and working on this saga. Now I'm
in Birmingham. I'm still tired. I'm still working.
So the idea that I like doing this is insane. I want to take a nap, or even
have a day off. But the events of the past two weeks have made it
impossible. And it's all because of stuff Tiger players or coaches have
created.
I just react and report the news. I don't create it. And honestly, just like
you, I wish it would slow down.
Maybe someday.

Why is gary talking so long with Tamika is my question?
Does she have a lawyer?
Just seems not right with him traveling with the Tigers, that he is spending so much time with her.
That makes him look to be a risk to be around the BB team.
I don't know. Something is just not right here.

I agree Loyal. Memphis is not Salem.
The problem with most of the media (not all, and I am not mentioning names) is that in the way they chose to report the news, they help create the news. By putting priorities on stories or where they are place in the paper or when they are put on the news, they are effecting the way that people view the news.
Much like the fiasco at Channel 3 with Dan Rather, there is such a rush to have the scoop. To be there first with the information that people do not always stop and see that every story has at least three sides.
You can not tell me that there is not personal feelings/bias in many of the reports that we have heard on this issue. I called Vernon's show and all he wanted to talk about was the objectivity of the reporters. I had to disagree that many on his station are not remaining objective in reporting, they are editorializing the news and that is not right and in many cases, not fair to those involved.

Gary,
Why is this info just coming out? How did the tape get to the newspaper (Tamika, the police, who)? Why the accusations against Cal now and not when it happened?
Me thinks there is a conspiracy.
Please enlighten me/us.
Gary, why are people blistering Coach Cal for Sean Banks flunking out. Is it Coach Cal's fault? I think not. They walked the kid to class; and he leaves class 5 minutes later. Should the coaches sit outside the class room?
Everyone is blistering Cal on the radio because of the poor academics which is not true. Yes, Sean flunk out of school; but noone points out that when Coach got here we had a graduation rate of 0%, now it's 75% and all three seniors are on track to graduate. When does he get credit for that? The answer is he doesn't because it's not news.
Gary Parrish can suck my dick.
Put that in your newspaper and smoke it.

OK, I'll ask the obvious that apparently I am too stupid to figure out. Why is GP posting under georgiatiger's screen name? Is that an email from Parrish?
I'll be happy only when I conduct a thorough investigation into this and uncover all of the facts in this sordid Commercial Appeal conspiracy!

Gary was kind enough to reply to my e-mail and gave me permission to post his response. I assured him you guys wouldn't be jerks about it. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

"Georgiatiger, you can't spend your whole life worrying about your mistakes! You ****** up - you trusted us! Hey, make the best of it! Maybe we can help."
"That's easy for you to say! What am I going to tell Gary?"
"Hey, it's gotta work better than the truth."
"Better listen to him, Georgiatiger, he's in pre-med."
[firing up blow-torch] "There you go now, just leave everything to me."

I agree and MR. Parrish knows from some of my E-Mails that I have sent him in that past that is not easy for me to do. Think about it even in the everyday work place people get mad at the Messenger instead of saying why did this happen in the first place. His job is to report news good or bad and right now its bad.

actually, i'm more of the "pinto" type.
Champ, I understand your points and I understand your position but I still want to know why he is spending two hours with the girl?
Is he an attorney on the side.
Doesn't he think its sorta a conflict of interest to be around the team then.
Does the team know he is hanging out with Tameka?
Do they know if they say anything about it, it might make it back to who knows who?
I just think something is fishy here.

You may be right, but I was kind of thinking he was going to the right source so he would not be saying unamed sources as they sometimes do in the paper when they really don't have facts. Once the team knows that he has been talking to Her, the gag rule needed to go in to effect and just ignore him, eventually he will go away or either stand there looking stupid. Have a good day and it may smell fishy but I have gone fishing many times without a bite.
