Story on Wesly on MSN!

First off, that picture of Justin Rose shows nothing. That was probably actually one of numerous goaltending violations Wes recieved during his career. I'm not quite sure he ever learned the exact rule. If you want to show a Justin Rose picture from that game, get the dunk he had on #44 Andrew Walker. I don't think Wes would ever be scared to go up with Rose, Walker on the other hand might have that memory for the rest of his life. In all seriousness though, did anyone from UCF sign a contract. Not trying to poke fun, but what if Mercer Basketball had more NFL players than UCF football this year. I'm sure O'Leary will change all that soon. Congrats to Wes for representing Mercer so well.
I saw some UCF running back signed with someone
Touchy Touchy...but hey, my post made a newbie start posting on this board...where's that Ipod!!! 03-wink

Seriously, though, I was at the Mercer/UCF game and thought that that photo was "the dunk" - but now that you point it out, you're right - it wasn't that one. It's really too bad (for Justin) that that game wasn't televised. Later that night, a Georgia State player made SC top 10 for missing a dunk and then putting it back in - lame.

Congrats to Wes Duke though for getting signed. He's a beast and would do fine without the pads. UCF did have 2 guys sign, but Ataris injury and a terrible season overall led to a draftless season for UCF for the first time in a while.

Alex Haynes RB - Baltimore
Taveres Capers WR - Pittsburgh

You might have had more than USF though!
Well congrats to those two signing. Doubling us up yet again. Hopefully we can hang close in baseball at the end of the year.
Wesley's signing bonus was $20K.....

These college free agents stirred up interest after the draft before deciding on teams. Purdue's Jon Goldsberry mostly was a linebacker in college but was signed by the Bills to play fullback. Mercer's Wesley Duke didn't even play football in college. He was a basketball player, and the Broncos aren't certain what position he will play.
That's incredible! I'm so glad for him. I doubt they would throw that much money at him without high intentions of keeping him around for at least the practice squad.
Are there any players from Mercer starting in the NFL right now? Just curious.
