Do you guys see ETSU fans making the move from the SoCon site (non-ncaabbs) to this one?
I'm just wondering if they're going to keep that one open for you much longer?
Also, I think NCAAbbs has a lot of advantages from a tech perspective.
We have been told we can stay on the old site for as long as we want. However, there is really too much negativity over there and I think that the posters who want more positive comments will come over here. This website has been posted on the old board. I think you will see more comments when we get closer to basketball time.
Big Blue, I have made the move to this site for the very reason you mention--the negativity was getting tedious. I'm still post on that site from time to time (jd4bucs), but myself and other fans are ready to move forward. I'm not sure who will make the move from the UNCG site, but I know there are some who feel the same way. At any rate, I'm glad to be here and love talking college hoops.
I'm here for the same reasons. I'm ready for the A-Sun, I just hope you guys are ready for the Bucs!
I'm curious as to what the status of ETSU is in the major sports. In specific, I'm wondering where we need to put their team forum... here or SoConbbs?
ETSU is A-Sun in all sports.
I monitor both boards along with a board that is tied to the foundation to bring back ETSU football.
Other than bringing back football, the only way to stop (or at least slow down) all the critical posts on the other board is for ETSU basketball to again start winning and having a successfull basketball program. Its all about winning, plain and simple. The more the team struggles the more those can bash the tri-cities, local sports writers, local donors, coaches and adminstration. But if we can have a successfull year, say a 20 win regular season, win the conf. tourney (at our place!) and get back into the NCAAs, then that will stop most of the whining. Better yet follow that year up with another 1 or 2 years like it and the critisim will be all but nonexistent. Of course it will never stop all of it. Even if football would return and the basketball team went to the NCAA every year, there would still be those that have something to whine about. I'm looking forward to the the day that we can all whine about why ETSU can't get past the sweet 16!!!!! Go Bucs.

Um...I think that would pretty much elminate all the complaining.
Mostly, but not for some posters on that board. They would still find a way to complain about the football recruiting, coaches, media, why no one is coming to the games, etc.
