Good to see all the bu11sh!t namecalling and your "holier-than-thou" attitudes towards Marshall have come back to you as a sh!t storm.
Good luck with that.
Point shaving ? FBI investigations ? Mafia connections ?
It can't get any worse for Toledo Football.
Karma came back to bite your asses.
GO HERD.
the problem in Toledo is with TWO PEOPLE.
the problem in Huntington was with your WHOLE PROGRAM.
thanks for dropping by, enjoy another losing season in conference DOA. thats what, two is a row now?

Tuck Foledo!! Too bad we don't play you anymore so we could spank you again. haha
Seriously, I liked playing you guys. The last trip I made up there was cool even though we lost. I would much rather play you guys than play Bowling Freakin Green. That place sucks *** and is in the middle of no where USA cow pasture.

Gary Manni = Mafia connection lmfao
This isn't even close to a comparison to the Herd program and it's troubles with boosters, coaches knowing about the payola, and numerous other issues that have been around for decades.
Ah yes...Herd Chemist...the flamer that just can't help himself. He got his knickers in such a wad with Oddball he had to run back to the Terd board for sauve for his wounds. Twerp.
What does a Herdchemist do?
Something involving coils of copper tubing and bushels of corn?
Reasonable but partisan fans will agree, while unreasonable partisan fans will just do the 5th grade playground act... for both camps, the damage occurred because of a few people who didn't ask enough questions.
It can happen at Marshall, and did.
It can happen at Toledo, and did.
But to my friend Chemist, I'd just say that Toledo's holier-than-thou never really bothered me, either way. Opposing fans will find great joy in taking potshots when they, truth be told, feel inferior. So, why that should bother a Marshall fan, I'm not sure...
At the risk of stating the obvious, though, what should bother anyone who is just merely human, whether they cheer for Rocket football or Herd football is to read that someone would actually think it's something to brag about that they cheered for people to die. To wit... I despise USPaM with all my heart, but there's a line that decent, coherent, genuine people will never cross. I'm confident that practically anyone else who regularly posts on this board will lock arms with me on that, no matter the level of vitriol of the other posts in this thread.
Once again, we have the joy of listening to the Herdiban play the victim of "everybody's out to get us". The $$hitt that got thrown Marshall's way early on, before the days of NCAAbbs, was well-earned by a handful of zealots who came in with their chests puffed up and their gums flapping non-stop. Then, lo and behold, we find out their "glory years" were full of one NCAA violation after another and the zealots are STILL running their gums. You wanna take a shot at Toledo for Scooter? Go right ahead. But this is NOTHING compared to the institutionalized cheating that was going on at Marsha long before you came back to 1A.

Who's the bigger sinner?
For whom will hell be hotter?
"Institutionalized cheating" sounds pretty ominous.
But then again, having not just the NCAA, but even the FBI performing investigations can't be too pretty, either.
Reality is, Marshall's "institutionalized cheating" was, again, a matter of key persons not asking enough questions. We did the crime, we did the time.
Though it falls on deaf ears here (imagine that), very few of the players involved with that whole episode ever even saw the field... but that's an "inconvenient truth." (Yes, the political moderate in me cringes as I use that phrase, but it does apply.)
Reality is, Toledo's failure to police their own properly is apparently going to have its own consequences, too.... and the heat will be felt.
Perhaps we'll be able to figure out the bigger sinner according to, in the end, who's paid the bigger penalty overall.
Though, perhaps not.
Until then, let the playground carry on..........

Oh, and ooooops, guess those ears weren't so deaf after all-how'd you end up here? Wow, this is even more fun than the playground....

The Rockets will overcome this tragedy just like how Marshall overcame the tragedy of the plane crash.

Yea, maybe they'll make a movie about it that nobody will watch.
I like how he calls us cheaters. Is showing up to a guys house with guns cheating?

Who's the bigger sinner? I guess that's what we have courts for. Obviously, felonies are far bigger than instiutionalized cheating at sports. At least legally. Probably morally...but maybe not. My point was that more than once I saw message boards completely shut down because of Marshall fans' constant flaming and baiting (AOL Grandstand instantly comes to mind...those who were around then know exactly what I'm talking about). We listened to the bragging, the belittling, and all the other trash talk for all those years in the MAC, and frankly, most of us are damn glad we don't have to deal with the "average" Marshall poster we were accustomed to. Herd Chemist's little attempt at being an attention whore worked for a minute. But I'm over it.

Yeah, I was really thinking the same thing.
Our troubles don't translate into an institutional issue, but rather, a few individuals may find themselves in correctional institutions for off-field transgressions.
Not good for UT, but also not cheating.
If you think about it, the Ohio Correctional facilities could have an impressive backfield: Maurice Clarrett, Ray Williams, Scooter (if he gets convicted), and Richard Davis (if he gets convicted).

Yes, I am. And you should be. But thanks. ;-)
