Anyone have any information about a comment regarding Andre Ware and his helmet that was supposedly raised by one of the Aggie players at their game with the Red Raiders.

Heard a mention of some act called "classless" by Ware himself on 610 Sports yesterday, but no details. Can anyone fill me in?
When we were playing atm back in 1989, there was a play where Ware was sacked. After Ware was sacked, an atm player took his helmet and raised it in the air. From my vantage point (in the band), it looked as though the atm player took the helmet off of Ware's head to do this. According to some atm fans, his helmet came off from the hit and the atm player picked it up and raised it in the air. Either way the act was classless and there was no taunting penalty called at all.
Any idea if there was something that occurred before the Aggie/Red Raider game this weekend that tied into this.

Andre's comment yesterday indicated that the issue came up again on the field THIS year, simply because he was there to do play-by-play for the game.

Although he would not talk specifics, he did say that he called the SID at TAMU to comment on the new activity.

BTW, thanks for the information to date.

No need to follow up with any more info. I was able to find out that Ware's issue was that the Aggie player who did this was "honored" at the game this weekend and the stadium announcer made a point to say he was the one who tore off Ware's helmet and held it aloft.

Must say, that is about as classless as you can get (the original act, and even more so glorifying it 15 years later).

BTW, you can view the play on YOUTUBE
