Memo to ECU from the 70's: Our decade is over.

How about the 10 years from 1991-2000... ECU was 70-45 overall 26-26 vs the Power conferences without a big time conference to help recruit with beating schools like Miami (twice) Syracuse (three times) West Virginia (twice),Pitt (Twice) NC State (3 times) Virginia Tech (Twice) S. Carolina (5 times) Stanford (in a Bowl) Texas Tech (in a bowl) to name a few, and we did it mostly on the road. We won major bowls like the Peach and a Liberty in a time when "mid majors" didn't even go to bowls. We defeated 7 top 25 schools in those 10 years, (including a couple of top 10 Miami teams) and we finished in or around the top 25 about half of those years including a #9 national finish and a #23 national finish as well as THREE other times receiving votes in the final polls in those 10 years and we were clearly the best team out of the 5 NC teams 5 of those 10 years.

I really like the way you guys have set-up your schedule by complimenting your in-conference schedule with some great, regional BCS OOC games, but I do agree...maybe it would be best to open with one cream puff first. Hopefully you turn Navy into that cream puff tomorrow!!

TH has done an amazing job with our OOC over the next few years. One thing is for sure. These big regional games will bring in some attendance. The problem is we are coming out of what may be our worst football period ever thanks in no small part to our previous AD and Chancellor, and I think the fan base needs some results and now just for the health of the program.

Plus, with basketball at ECU being a horrible suck fest forever and suddenly our baseball program seems to have taken all kinds of stumbles, we really need football to get back to something close to the form of the '90's.
