I've already let my intentions be known. I will be in Orlando to watch the Pirates take on the Golden Knights this year. I have offered to represent East Carolina University in a beer pong match. I've said that the loser of this game will have to join the booster club of the opponent school for 1 year. I also said that it can be however many of you Knight fans you want -vs- only myself. We can play as many times as you would like, but the best out of 3 series determines the winner/loser and we can squash this like true tailgaters.

IS THERE NO ONE FROM UCF WILLING TO TAKE THIS OFFER?

I had to sign up for this board just because of this thread ;-) I'm known by some as Beer Pong Dave in G-Vegas(greenville, nc). Anyway, Hummell let me know if you could use some help because I'll be in town and would love to help out a fellow Pirate. Not saying you couldn't handle these guys because I'm sure you can, but still I can and will dominate the Beer Pong (really called Beirut) table.

To the other faithful Pirates that are coming out of the woodwork, I'd love to play with you guys. I'm sure, if given the chance, we would run through the entire UCF constituency. Apparently though, no one wants to step up.

Chris Murray dribbles the ball twice, spins it in his hand, eyes the rim and lets it fly. But instead of winning the state championship or some other meaningless basketball game, he has just done one better.

The World Series of Beer Pong hopeful has won his second game in a row over his roommate/training partner Spencer Smith. The look of shame and disgust fills Smith?s face as he trudges to the refrigerator to reload with Natural Light.

?Beer pong is basically my life,? Smith admitted. ?I tried concentrating on schoolwork, but it just gets in the way of my training. I drink, sleep and drink beer pong. If I didn?t have pong, I don?t know where I?d be ? probably working somewhere.?

The duo goes by the name of The Solo Assassins (referring to the red cups), and they are the new breed of athlete that looks to combine precise hand-eye coordination with an exceptionally large tolerance for alcohol in the game that is sweeping campuses nationwide. But now beer pong is taking the next step.

In early January, the first ever World Series of Beer Pong was held at the Oasis Resort and Casino in Mesquite, Nev. The inaugural event was a huge success, bringing together 82 teams to compete for the pride of being called the soberest drunk.

Two days of preliminary competition molded the teams into a field of 32 to compete in the double-elimination tournament. Costumes such as dominatrix outfits were worn in order to get into the mind of the opponents.

While the tournament brought an impressive array of Ping-Pong hurlers, Murray feels the contest did not crown a true champion because of the lack of a Tennessee presence.

?Nobody knew about the WSOBP,? Murray said. ?There were no advertisements or anything. If there were, myself and the true beer pong warriors were too drunk to see them.?

When asked about the psychological warfare that some opponents might bring to the table next year. Murray scoffed and pointed to the picture framed on his wall.

?Do you think Chuck Norris would be afraid of a dominatrix?? he asked. ?Hell no. He?d hit him with a spinning roundhouse kick. That?s who we pattern our game after. Chuck?s discipline and desire shown in ?Walker: Texas Ranger? episode 27 are pillars we should all live by.?

Due to the inspiration given by Norris, the duo trains daily in an attempt to make a statement when they debut on the beer pong scene next year. The constant conditioning does not come without its consequences. Smith was forced to sell his laptop a month ago in order to keep the supply of plastic cups and Ping-Pong balls at an adequate level.

?My mom begs me everyday to do something with my life,? Smith admitted. ?It hurts to see her cry, but it?s a passion. Plus, the chicks dig it. The cup chasers flock to the table when we are up.?

But the obvious question remains ... What if their dreams are not realized, and they are left with only a dirty water cup? The Assassins can?t fathom that outcome.

?That can?t happen,? Murray said matter of factly. ?If I don?t win the golden tap, my life will be incomplete. Some people want a successful career and a fortune. All I want is that one last shot.?

Smith echoes the sentiments of his teammate.

?I got a fever, and the only prescription is more beer pong,? Smith proclaimed. ?I don?t care if you have to prop me up next to the table. I will be playing until my liver tells me it?s time to stop.?

Ah, I see. Never seen a cup knocked off a table at a Pirate Pong game, so I didn't know if the ECU Tailgate guys were using basketballs or small rocks or something.

I've played with folks whose rule was that if you were caught with light cups, you had to drink the cup of water used for washing the ball.

There is actually a National Beer Pong League(NBPL) where you can win a few thousand bucks. I feel like I am ready but just cannot seem to get a good enough partner to commit ;-) Man I love chatting about Beer Pong, I might just have to play some this afternoon!
